Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024BIT Mesra had been conceived with a vision to be recognized as a world-class learning institution for engineering and technology. The institute offers Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes, the institute has more than 150 registered students for Doctoral Programmes at present. BIT Mesra has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) & the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) established by the UGC & AICTE respectively. The Institute has made significant forays into international academics by becoming a part of international ventures and tie-ups. BIT Mesra has collaborative arrangements with Universities in the USA, UK & Canada. It is also an active member of the 'EAGER NETWIC' Project under the Asia Link programme of European Commission. This is to establish a world-class academic network of higher education in the rapidly growing field of Wireless and Mobile Communication between the five partner Universities.

Placement
For the past 50 years, the campus recruitment process of BIT has been supplementing the needs of different sectors of the industry. The department offers centralized services in Mesra, plus services in each of the extension centers, to meet the diverse needs of the BIT student population. The Training & Placement Division at BIT, Mesra, along with its counterparts at various other campuses of BIT, partners with recruiters to meet their needs most suitably. This is done by way of an active summer internship programme coupled with the on-campus recruitment programme.
Infrastructures
BIT's infrastructure includes lecture halls, research laboratories, workshops, library etc. covers an area exceeding 3,50,000 sq. ft. It has co-educational facilities with separate hostel accommodation for boys and girls. The well laid out campus provides all facilities for cultural, recreational and sports facilities.
