Jain University, which was formerly known as Shri Bhagwan Mahavir Jain College, was established in the year 1990 by Dr.Chenraj Joychand as SBMJC. It is a deemed university and was given the Deemed status in the year 2010.
The University offers more than 185 programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research level and as well as certification programs in Social Sciences & Humanities, Languages, Physical & Life Sciences, Engineering Science and Technology, Management, Commerce, Ph.D., and M.Phil.

Admissions to the programmes offered by Jain University are done on the basis of score obtained in the Jain Entrance Test (JET) and personal interview conducted by the university.

Jain University offers admission to postgraduate programmes in the fields of Humanities & Social Sciences, Management, Commerce, Science, Engineering & Technology and Languages. To be eligible for admission to the postgraduate programmes offered by the university, the candidates must have completed bachelor’s degree in respective discipline with minimum qualifying marks. Such students need to appear only for the personal interview conducted by the University for selecting candidates for admission to research programmes. Admissions to M.Tech programmes are based on the GATE/ PG (CET) score and the candidates who do not have a valid GATE/ PG (CET) score can still can admission in M.Tech programmes by appearing for the Jain Entrance Test conducted by the university. Admissions to various programmes offered by the university are done based on the score obtained in the Jain Entrance Test (JET) and performance in Group Discussion/ Personal Interview.
