Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) prepares well cultivated engineers for the vastly developing technological, economic and social environment. Placement

Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) has excellent placement record and shapes its students meticulously for the top leading firms. The recruitment process starts after 6th semester for B.Tech,, 4th semester for MCA and 2nd semester for M.Tech. Students. It is generally spread over approximately one year for every batch, starting from July and ending at June. College has received 'A' grade from M/s Tata consultancy Services (T.C.S.) as per its own accreditation system. The placement cell of the college imparts excellent infrastructure facilities for the final interviews process.

Infrastructures

The campus of the college is beautifully encircled by the lush green atmosphere spread in 75 acres of land, which creates an enchanting atmosphere for the learners. The edifice of the college is well architect, which comprises spacious lecture halls, well equipped labs, and students counselling and Book bank facility for the learners.

Classroom

College has trendy and air conditioned lecture halls, which are well equipped with modern facilities, such as audio systems, Overhead Projects. The seating are designed to provide students with complete comfort for the intense hours of classrooms teaching and interaction.

Laboratory

All the laboratories are well equipped with latest instruments.

Library

Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) library has a vast collection of latest books pertaining to engineering field, journals, and periodicals. College has a separate reading room for learners and faculty where they can work on their programmes. The library of the college is air conditioned and kit out with all necessary amenities.

A good college for studying engineering and Computer Application

It is a very known college of west bengal. Now a days it is the 2nd ranking college under WBJEE. Its placement status is not good like NITs but 98% student get job maybe at in or out campus. TCS, Capgimini, Tech Mahindra, MNDastur are the most recruiting companies.

Decent College but not so Decent Campus!

The college is decent enough to get your engineering degree. According to WBUT or I guess "MAKAUT", it is the best college in WB, which is all just to get hypes for the college and board. To be honest, MAKAUT is the worst thing about this college. Teachers are very friendly except some, which is the case in every college. Infrastructure is decent enough. New buildings are being constructed and every department has its own building. Labs are well equipped too, except some. The campus has no fence or walls to separate it from the nearby village (Chandamari) which is like a central zone for all sorts of criminal activities. Because of it and the factor that the campus is completely open makes the campus really unsafe. Cultural functions and fests are great. Other co curricular activities and sports tournaments are done often. Overall, it's a good educational institution to pursue your engineering if you're okay with the campus, its surroundings and MAKAUT.

An honest review of Kalyani Govt. Engg. College- from an ex-student's perspective

I am a postgraduate student in the department of mechanical engineering from KGEC 2016. Getting into this prestigious college was one of the best things that happened to me. Most of the faculty are excellent, they are experienced and knowledgeable, and maintain a very friendly behaviour with students. The mechanical department, headed by Dr. Santanu Das, is one of the best departments here. Average placement for undergrads lie in the range 3-4 lacs pa, while for post grads it becomes higher. The college is an active participant of fests, inter-college competitions, debates and seminars. The knowledge gathered here is bountiful, as teachers are able to focus on individual students. The capability of conducting research is also high, due to availability of funds and research labs and machines. The tuition fees is extremely low which makes KGEC one of the most sought after colleges in West Bengal
