Indraprastha College for Women was established in the year 1924 as part of a pan-India campaign for education and empowerment of women. Being the oldest women’s college under Delhi University, the college campus has been recognized as a heritage site. The college offers undergraduate courses in the field of science, arts, commerce and mass communication. The college is affiliated to Delhi University and is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade.

College has good placements record.

Infrastructures

The college is strategically located 3 kilometres from the north campus of Delhi University, 2 kilometres from the Inter-State Bus Terminus at Kashmiri Gate, and 4 kilometres from the Old Delhi Railway Station. The Civil Lines metro station is situated next to the college. The college has regularly added to its infrastructure to provide a comfortable working environment for its students.

Laboratory

The college offers the facility of three computer labs equipped with the latest IBM software and operating systems. Though these are meant primarily for the use of students enrolled in the Computer Science and Computer Applications programmes, as well as in the Mathematics and Commerce departments, the labs are also accessible to other students.

Library

The Indraprastha Library strives to create a lively and enriching intellectual environment for students. Its collections cater to both the students academic and recreational requirements. The Library has an ICT Centre and the librarys catalogues are fully computerised. The sophisticated information management system is user-friendly and available for access to students and faculty. I would say that this is the place for the overall development of a person. A place where you exposed directly after school. I have met some really wonderful people here and I have a great experience till date. Meeting some wonderful people with wonderful desires is absolutely great.

I would say that a college is a place where you actually grow up and actually get to learn. You learn a variety of things, you look up to new people and new ways. This college is a huge space where we are exposed to a variety of things. And also one basic but important thing I have learnt is time management. Student requirements are fulfilled in all the way, be it a library or sports facility.

Clean and safe surrounding. There are several cafes near the campus. Easy access to public transport. Metro station is very near. Academic facilities are great. Classrooms, labs, library and canteen is well maintained. The college authority and teachers provides quality education with overall personality development. There are several societies such as dance, music, fashion etc. Funding for fest should be better. Campus crowd is decent. More placements should be offered to the students. Faculties are very helpful and kind. They use easy and innovative teaching methods.

BOY REVIEWED A GIRLS COLLEGE College is wonderful place to study, to explore and make lots of amazing memories. Obviously the cafeteria hold most of my memories. Fighting over food at the back of the class at one moment and then writing 2-3 page notes the next moment. Loved the whole experience and it taught me a lot.

A bit of work needed in cleanliness and food preservatives. Cleanliness in hostels and academic facilities should be better. Some things need improvements, otherwise everything else is fine. More placements and salary increases are required. The faculty is good and the teaching techniques are nice. More technology is required.
