Indraprastha College for Women was established in the year 1924 as part of a pan-India campaign for education and empowerment of women. Being the oldest womenβs college under Delhi University, the college campus has been recognized as a heritage site. The college offers undergraduate courses in the field of science, arts, commerce and mass communication. The college is affiliated to Delhi University and is accredited by NAAC with βAβ grade.

Infrastructures
The college is strategically located 3 kilometres from the north campus of Delhi University, 2 kilometres from the Inter-State Bus Terminus at Kashmiri Gate, and 4 kilometres from the Old Delhi Railway Station. The Civil Lines metro station is situated next to the college. The college has regularly added to its infrastructure to provide a comfortable working environment for its students.
Laboratory
The college offers the facility of three computer labs equipped with the latest IBM software and operating systems. Though these are meant primarily for the use of students enrolled in the Computer Science and Computer Applications programmes, as well as in the Mathematics and Commerce departments, the labs are also accessible to other students.
Library
The Indraprastha Library strives to create a lively and enriching intellectual environment for students. Its collections cater to both the students academic and recreational requirements. The Library has an ICT Centre and the librarys catalogues are fully computerised. The sophisticated information management system is user-friendly and available for access to students and faculty.
