History: Indraprastha College for Women also known as IP College is a female only college of Delhi University. Founded in 1924, it is the oldest women college of the Delhi University and over the years, it has turned into a prestigious college for women in the country.

Courses: The College offers courses in the Science, Arts and Commerce streams. It also offers Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Infra: The College has always worked upon its infrastructure to provide a learning environment to its students. It has a full power backup to avoid any interruption in the college activities. It also has several computer laboratories, a spacious library, an auditorium, seminar room, conference room and excellent sporting facilities. The College has two hostels that can accommodate close to 360 students. Not only this, it offers medical services to deal with minor injuries and the entire campus is designed keeping in mind the needs of the differently abled students.

 

 

Co-Curricular: A lot of clubs and societies are there that enhance the learning of students. The dramatics society Abhivyakti is the most famous one while other societies such as Samvaad- the English debating society and Alaap- the Indian music society also draw many students. ‘Shruti’ is the annual college festival.

Alumni: The alumni list of the college is long and here a few names from that list: Ambika Soni (Former I&B Minister), Jaspinder Narula (Singer), Sucheta Kriplani (Former CM of Uttar Pradesh) and Rama Vij (Actress).
