About University of Rajasthan

The University of Rajasthan is the oldest institution in the state of Rajasthan, established in the year 1947 this public university has been recognized by UGC and AIU and has been accredited with grade 'A' by NAAC.

Formerly known as University of Rajputana, the idea of having an institution for higher degree in the Rajputana States was proposed by the then ruling princes and chiefs after which all the colleges were then affiliated to either Agra or Delhi, later on in 1942 with the constant efforts of the then Prime Minister of Jaipur Sir Mirza Ismail and his successor Sir V.T. Krishnamachari the University was established at Jaipur in Kesargarh Fort.

Been at Kesargarh Fort for long, the University was then shifted to its current location by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh, at Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The University is 7.9 km away from Jaipur Railway station and 2.6 km from Jaipur Airport.

The campus is spread over in an area of 300 acres and has all basic infrastructural amenities like Hostels, Sports complex, Moot court, gymnasium, Laboratories, Computer Labs, Auditorium, Music Room, Library, Cafeteria, Hospital, well-equipped classrooms, smart class, Seminar hall, swimming pool and Wi-Fi.

It offers various courses in Arts, Commerce, Education, Fine Art, Law, Management, Science and Social Science, offering M.A., M.Sc., Ph.D., Certificate and Diploma.

The college admits students on the basis of merit and in certain courses by entrance exam like admission in all PG courses is through URATPG which starts its application in May and the exam is held in June and then the result is announced in July.

Similarly, RULET is the entrance exam for the five-years integrated Law program (B.A.LLB) and PBMET exam for B.Ed. and M.Ed. conducted by University of Rajasthan. PIM-MAT and PMET are the entrance exam for MBA and M.Ed, respectively. It also accepts GATE scores for MBA and offers scholarships accordingly.

The university is ranked amongst the 100 National Institutional Ranking Frame work (MHRD) in 2017 and has more than 2700 research papers published in last 5 years. The university also has MoU with Universities of France, America, Japan, Britain, Canada, Japan, Australia and Scotland for student and faculty exchange programs.

Rajasthan University PG Admission

Rajasthan University offers an array of Postgraduate courses under various specializations. The duration of all the PG courses is two years except M.C.A. and M.Tech. in Converging Technologies. The application process begins around mid-June. Selection would depend on the entrance test conducted by the University.

RU gives 70% weightage to entrance test and 30% weightage to marks obtained in previous qualifying examination for preparing the merit list.

Rajasthan University UG Admission

University of Rajasthan offers an array of courses in various streams like Arts, Science, Law, Commerce, etc. They are either Honors or Pass Undergraduate degrees. All the courses except integrated courses (Law and Engineering & Technology) are for three years. The integrated courses are for five years.

B.Sc. Home Science is only offered to girl candidates and for BPA and BVA candidates must be younger than 25 years of age in the admission year.

Rajasthan University Admission 2017

University of Rajasthan, popularly known as Rajasthan University is a public and state university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Established in 1947, the university has always been performing very well. It has been awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC. It offers a wide array of specializations in Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), M Phil, PhD and diploma programme. Students have the option to choose from various courses like BA LLB, BCA, Executive MBA, Zoology, M.Sc., etc.

Aspirants can get the application form on the official website. Application process for UG and PG courses begin in the month of June, whereas, the application process of M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses begin in the month of September. For taking admission to UG courses, the aspirant needs to be 12^th pass. For taking admission in PG, M.Phil and Ph.D. courses, the aspirants need to go through an entrance exam.

49% seats in all the courses are reserved for SC, ST and OBC candidates
3% of the total number of seats in each category and each course is reserved for physically handicapped students
1% of the total number of seats in each category is reserved for Kashmiri migrants
