Kannur University
Kannur University is a Private University which was established in the year 1996 with the passing of Act 22 by the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The University is considered as one of the priority Universities of Kerala, as it has managed to maintain the provision of education to each and every student. The University has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with Grade ‘B’. The University’s main motto is “From Darkness, Lead me to Light”. It envisages to the idea of leading the students as well the faculty to the range of Positivity. The University also focuses on Hard-work, Passion, Aspiration, and Innovation. It motivates the students to make efforts for being better individuals for themselves as well as for the society.
Kannur is a multi-campus University, which are located in the districts of: Kannur, Kasargod, Mananthavady, Payyannur, Thalassery, and Kanhangad. The main objective behind the establishment of this University was to ensure the state of Kerala with educated people. It aimed to provide higher education in the districts of Kannur and Kasargod in the initial stages. Kannur University is an affiliating institution which provides accreditation to various colleges in the districts of Kannur, Kasargod, and Wayanad.
Admission Process: There has been a Choice Based Credit System in the University, where through the online registration for the desired programmes, the students can apply for the colleges of their choice. There exists the process of Entrance tests for nearly all the courses, for example, B.A P.Ed (Bachelors of Physical Education), B.A Music, or any other Graduate or Postgraduate course. Any student who selects Kannur University for higher education has to compulsorily register online, irrespective of the category they belong to, before the closure of the registration process.
The admissions are only on the basis of merit. The marks attained in the secondary school or degree college will be considered as an important parameter for the whole admission process, and the University follows strict rules in the allotment of seats to the SC/ST/OBC or any other category, depending on the guidelines maintained by the admission department of the University. The maximum age limit for getting enrolled in the Undergraduate courses is 23 Years, while for the students of SC/ST/OBC students, it is 25 Years, and 28 Years for the Person with Disability, for the same.
Facilities:There are numerous facilities provided by the University which are extremely beneficial for the students,for example, well equipped laboratories for practical work, good classrooms, internet facilities, ground for sports activities, over-head projector in classrooms.

Kannur University Admission Process
Kannur University follows an Online Centralized Allotment process. Aspirants who’ve fulfilled the application process must take a note of the points below to know more about Kannur University Admission Process:

A Trial Allotment will be conducted to give an idea about the chances of getting the allotment to a programme and colleges, based on the option registered and the rank of the candidate.

After the trial allotment and the first allotment list will be published on the official website
-
The candidate needs to download the allotment memo which has to be produced before the Principal at the time of admission.

The candidates who get allotment have to pay the University fees as per the procedure mentioned and ensure their seat. Those who fail to remit the fee in time will not be considered for further allotment.

The second/ further allotment list will be published. A candidate who gets an allotment at any stage will have to remit the fee for the course allotted. The candidates who get allotment will have to report to the Principal/Head of the college/institution concerned for admission on the dates notified with their document including, print out of complete application, print out of transaction ID, allotment memo, original mark sheet, birth certificate, etc.

The Principal/Head of the Institution shall be personally responsible for verification and satisfaction of the correctness of the documents produced by the candidates.
Kannur University Application Process
Aspirants who want to take admission to Kannur University must follow the steps given below:

Any candidate who wishes to join UG degree programme under Kannur University must register online on the official website
-
Online registration fee is: For general candidates: Rs. 400/- and for SC/ST candidates: Rs. 250/-
-
Registration fee can be paid online through SBI COLLECT. The original pay-in-slip from the bank should be produced in the college at the time of admission. This fee is non-refundable
-
After opening the application form from the ‘Registration Link’, the candidate has to provide details like Name, Date of birth, gender, category and e-mail id.

After entering the details the candidate will be given a unique application number. Note the application number and password that you’ve already entered for future use.

Add all the details asked in the application form like name, date of birth, gender, nationality, address, religion, caste, etc.

Candidates who want to claim reserved seats must have documents to support their claim.

Now, the candidates are supposed to enter the marks of their qualifying examination. Several details like type of examination, the board of study, stream, etc. will be asked.

After entering all the details, the aspirants are supposed to click ‘Save and Continue’ button for submitting the details

After remitting the registration fee, again login to your account with application number and password
-
Upload photo and signature. Photo (150px X 200px, 40kb) and signature ( 150px X 60px, 40kb). After uploading the photo click ‘Continue’ button.

Now, the aspirants can select course and college of their choice and click ‘Add Option’ button to confirm it. Maximum of 20 options for courses and colleges can be selected at once.

Preview and verify completed application form

Click ‘Print Completed Application’ button to take the print out of the completed application form.
Kannur University PG Admission
Kannur University offers various PG courses under various specializations like, MA in English, Hindi, History, Philosophy, etc., M.Sc. in Chemistry, Maths, Zoology, M.Com in Commerce, Taxation, MBA in Finance, Marketing and many other courses. The minimum eligibility to get admission to PG courses is to have a bachelor’s degree in a cognate field.
Kannur University UG Admission
Kannur University offers various UG courses in the field of Science, Arts, Commerce, Engineering, etc. Choice Based Credit and Semester (CBCS) system are offered by Govt./Aided/ Self-financing affiliated colleges of the university. The minimum eligibility to get admission to UG programmes is to be 10+2 pass or equivalent. Duration of each programme depends on the specialization opted by the candidate. The merit of a candidate will be assessed on the basis of the marks obtained by him/her in the qualifying examinations for admission to any particular course.
