Dr. C.V. Raman University

Dr. C. V. Raman University was established in 2006 as the education hub of courses in the fields of management, arts, science, law, commerce, journalism, education and humanities. It is set up under section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956/GOCG Act no. 29/2006. It is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The Engineering and Management programs of the University are recognized and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), its education programmes are approved by National Council for Teacher’s Education (NCTE), Distance Education Programmes approved by Distance Education Council (DEC) and Joint Committee (UGC, AICTE, ICT basedDEC) and the law programmes are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

The University was established by AISECT Group and was named after the physicist and first Nobel Laureate of the country, Dr. C.V. Raman. AISECT is India’s leading skill development, educational, training, and services delivery network whose mission is to reach out to the remotest corner of India andICT-based training and services to empower people, generate employment for the youth and unfold entrepreneurship based initiatives to create an inclusive society.

The University provides a number of student-centric services like counselling, training, placement support and personality grooming. It has good industrial linkages with the Industry.

The University believes that all students must maintain balance between academics and co-curriculars and hence encourages them to participate in extra-curricular activities like music, dance, debate, sports, etc. It is also the first University to start its own community radio ’90.4 Radio Raman’ and has a campus with a Wi-Fi facility with 3G and 4G towers.

The University offers scholarship programmes to the economically deprived and meritorious students. It has a hostel facility, medical facilities, cafeteria and also a spacious library with over 40,000 books, 5,000 titles and thousands of CDs and journals.
