Selection Procedure

Under Graduate Selection Process

Admission to the programmes will be on the basis of the All India Rank in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE – Main) of that particular year. The shortlisted candidates will be offered admission (confirmed/ waitlisted) in the order of their merit (All India Rank of JEE Main).

Post Graduate Selection Process

Master of Technology (Information & Communication Technology)

1. Admission to M. Tech. (ICT) will be on the basis of a valid GATE score in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electrnoics & Communication/ Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation/ Physics/ Mathematics only.
2. Shortlisting will be done on the basis of GATE score only. Admissions will solely depend on the basis of the candidate’s rank in the merit list.
3. Applicants are advised to check regularly for e-mails from the institute from the date of announcement of the First Merit List, to know about the admission status and procedure to confirm the admission.

Master of Science (Information Technology)

1. The candidates are selected through an Entrance Test to be conducted at the designated centres all over the country. The centre locations include DAIICT Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Surat and many others. The final merit list for admission will be prepared on the basis of aggregate score in the Entrance Test.
2. Duration for the examination will be 90 Minutes and the test will evaluate the candidates on their mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, basic C programming skills and English comprehension.
3. Applicants are advised to check their e-mails regularly for any mails from the institute regarding the admission status and the procedure following that.

Master of Design (Communication Design)

1. All candidates aspiring for this programme will be selected through a Design Aptitude Test (DAT) to be conducted at DAIICT. Candidates qualifying the DAT will be called for an interview round.
2. The final selection will be based on the combined scores obtained in DAT, Statement of Purpose (SOP) and the interview and the SOP.
3. The candidates with a valid CEED score can also apply. It may be noted that only the candidates who have qualified Part A and have obtained minimum 25 marks in Part B will be directly called for the interview.
4. Also, all the candidates desirous of admission should submit a detailed Statement of Purpose online along with their applications without which their applications will not be considered.

Application Process

Under Graduate Admission

1. Candidates can avail the application forms form the university website and the completed application form can be submitted onilne along with an application fee of Rs. 1,200/- which is non-refundable.
2. The candidate is required to satisfy the eligibility criteria in order to get his/ her candidature considered for final admission.
3. The admission of the candidates will be on the basis of the All India Rank in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE – Main) of that particular year and thereafter, the shortlisted candidates will be offered admission on merit basis.
4. Counselling will be done online. Also, applicants are advised to check e-mails from the institute to know about the admission status and the steps to be followed to continue with the counselling process.
5. The successful candidates who have accepted the admission offers will be required to appear for registration, document verification and and fee payment following which there will be orientation for candidates who have been given confirmed admission.

Post Graduate Admission

Master of Science (Information Technology)

1. The application form duly filled and completed after following the given instructions can be submitted online on the univeristy’s website. The non-refundable application fee for the same is Rs. 1,200/-.
2. The candidate has to satisfy the eligibilty criteria in order to get his/ her application considered for finla admission.
3. Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an Entrance Test at the centres designated by the University across the country the pllication procedure for which can be completed online.
4. Final Merit List will be prepared based on the aggregate score in the Entrance Test. The top 120 scorers will be offered confirmed admission who will be given 5 days’ time to accpet the admission offer by paying the relevant fee.
5. The candidates who have accepted the admssion offer will be notified to appear for registration, document verification, payment of fees. The orientation programme wil be held on confirmation of admission.

Master of Design (Communication Design)

1. The candidates are required to fill in the application form and submit it along with the Statement of Purpose (SOP) by following the link given on the university website. Application fee (non-refundable) for the same is Rs. 1,200/-.
2. The candidate must satisfy the eligibility criteria in order to get his/ her application considered for final admission.
3. Eligible candidates need to appear for DAIICT’s Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted at DAIICT Gandhinagar.
4. Candidates who have accepted admission offers will be notified to appear for registration which will be followed by counseling, document verification, payment of fees and the orientation programme, on confirmation of admission.

Ph. D. Programme

The university also offers Doctoral courses for students who want to pursue a career in R & D in areas related to Information & Communication Technology (ICT) and selected areas of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Candidates having Masters or M. Phil. Degree in the relevant discipline will be eligible for applying to the programme wherein the candidates must have cleared the qualifying examination with minimum percentage of marks (which will vary according to the course) as prescribed by the university.

The students can apply online on the university website. The application forms along with the application fee of Rs. 1,200/- can be submitted online. The students are advised to carefully read and follow the instructions before and while filling the online application forms. Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ICT PG Admission

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ICT also offers courses at the Postgraduate Level. Students after completing their Bachelors degree or its equivalent in their relevant discipline can apply for the Masters degree from this university. The university offers 3 courses under M. Tech. and M. Sc. Degrees. The duration of each course will vary.

2. The aggreagate percentage marks in the qualifying degree should be 60% or equivalent as per the norms set by the Degree awarding institute.
3. A valid GATE score in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics & Communication/ Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation/ Physics/ Mathematics.
4. The candidates appearing for the final year/ semester of the qualifying examination are also considered eligible provided they present the proof of completion of the eligible degree.
5. There is no age bar applicable to this programme.

Fee Structure

At the amount of admission, an amount of Rs. 65,000/- (Rs. 50,500/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester Rs. 15,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is to be paid. The registration fee is payable at the time of registration and hostel rent on allotment of the hostel room. Details of the fee structure subject to revision from time to time, are as follows:

Financial Assistance

Top 40 students (in order of merit based on valid GATE Score) would be eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,400/- in the form of Teaching Assistants in the First Semester. In subsequent semesters, Teching Assistantships would be primarily given to Thesis mode students with good academic performance. A minimum of 40 students (including project mode students based on the institue’s requirement) will be eligible for Teaching Assistantship in every semester.

Master of Science (Information Technology)

Master of Science is a programme designed for students who wish to pursue their career in Information Technology. A programme where hands-on learning is emphasised involves students to carry out an industry internship in the last semester of the programme. With the training provided during the course of the programme, a graduate of this programme can expect to build a satisfying career as a software engineer, analyst and system designer.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Aspirant must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university in any stream with an aggregate of 60% Marks or its equivalent as decided by the degree granting university/ institute in the qualifying examination.
2. Candidates appearing in the final examination of the qualifying degree can also apply, subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks and are able to provide proof of the same later.
3. However, the decision of the concerned authorities of DA-IICT regarding eligibility shall be considered as final.

An amount of Rs. 85,000/- (Rs. 70,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 15,000/- towards Caution Deposit) is required to be paid at the time of admission. Master of Design (Communication Design)

The Master of Design (Communication Design) is a 2-year postgraduate programme that offers specialisation in Visual Design and Interaction Design. The programme prepares students to pursue careers in the fields of Graphic Design, User Experience/ Interface Design, Film-making, Animation, Photography, Design research and teaching.

Eligibility Criteria

1. An aspiring candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from any statutory university in the fields of Design, Science, Engineering, Technology, Humanities, Fine Arts and many others.
2. Candidates with more than a year’s work experience apart from their qualifying degree are also encouraged to apply. Candidates must have 55% marks or equivalent in the last qualifying degree/ examination and are required to submit the proofs of successful completion of the degree or examination.

Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of ICT UG Admission

The University offers 2 four-year programmes at the Undergraduate Level, namely, B. Tech. (ICT) and B. Tech. (Hons. In ICT with minor in CS). The course structure is broadly divided into 3 categories which are Foundation Courses, Electives Courses and Internships & B.Tech. Project (BTP).

Eligibility Criteria

1. The minimum academic qualification required for admission to any of the Undergraduate Programmes is 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised/ central board/ university or any other qualifying examination as listed eligible by the university with Mathematics, Physics and any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology.
2. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for the course.

The university also offers scholarships of 3 types to eligible students which inlcude DA-IICT Scholarships (based on merit), Reliance Scholarships (merit-cum-means scholarships) and the Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme of the Government of Gujarat.

• Bachelor of Technology (Honours in ICT with minor in Computational Science) – 60 Seats

50% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have passed the qualifying exmaination from the State of Gujarat and the remaining 50% are filled in directly by DA-IICT.

Dhirubhai Ambani Instititute of Information and Communication Technology, established in the year 2001, is a university under the State Act of Gujarat and is the only advanced institute named after the Late Dhirubhai Ambani, Founder of the Reliance Group. With a vision to help build a knowledge-led society founded on intellectual competitiveness for global leadership, the DA-IICt was included in the list of universities by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in the year 2004. The university is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

The university offers courses at the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate Levels which constitute 2 courses at the Undergraduate level, 4 courses at the Postgraduate level and 1 course at the Doctorate level.
