Dayalbagh Educational Institute
Dayalbagh Educational Institute is located in the Dayalbagh district of Agra. It was founded in 1917 as a primary school and later turned into a deemed university in 1917. It has various faculties which offer different courses to students:
Faculty of Science
It consists of Department of Botany, Department of Chemistry, Department of Mathematics, Department of Physics & Computer Science and Department of Zoology. Thrust areas include Solar-Hydrogen Generation, Natural Products Chemistry, Atmospheric chemistry, Sonochemistry, Drug Design and Synthesis, Solar Energy Conversion, Nano-Biophotonics, Ultrafast Phenomena, Microwave Devices, VLSI Design, Neural Networks and Soft Computing, String Theory, Astrophysics, Unique Gene Sequences, Molecular Genomics, Genotoxicity, Computational Biology, Vector Control Entomology, Vector Control Parasitology, Molecular Systematic, Evolution and Biodiversity, Cell-Biotechnology & Nano-biotechnology, Information Centric Design of Systems, Computer Networks, etc. It offers facilities such as Graphical User Interface Online Circuit, Simulator mode (multiuser), Interactive Hardware Mode and One-shot Hardware Mode.
Faculty of Engineering
It consists of Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Faculty of Commerce
It consists of the Department of Accountancy & Law and Department of Applied Business Economics. It provides courses such as UG Programmes, PG Programmes, and Ph.D. UGC has sanctioned three projects of the department.
Faculty of Social Sciences
It consists of Department of Economics, Department of Management, Department of Psychology, Department of Sociology & Political Science, Department of Adult Continuing Education and Extension & Field Outreach. Some of the examples of journal publication are The Employers’ Perspective towards Women Domestic Workers, A Conceptual Study on Poverty Alleviation through Sustainable Livelihood, Mobile Financial Services: Technology Initiatives toward Financial Inclusion, Realizing the State of Women Domestic Workers in Urban Informal Sector, Changing Structure of Manufacturing Industry in India: Issues, Challenges and Opportunities, Black Money and Its Future Impact on Indian Economy-Issues and Challenges, Buyers’ Perception of Indian Traditional Grocery Retail Stores with special reference to three Attributes: Gender, Age and Education, etc.
Faculty of Education
It consists of Department of Foundations of Education and Department of Pedagogical Sciences. The thrust of Department of Foundations of Education is Holistic Education, ICT infused Education and Inclusive Education. The thrust areas of the Department of Pedagogical Sciences are Consciousness Studies, Innovative Pedagogical Practices, and E- Learning. Some of the projects are A Study of Relationship between Education & Social Mobility among Working Women, E- Content Generation for Undergraduate Courses, Effect of Internet use on the Study habits, Adjustment and Academic Achievement of Higher Secondary Students, An Action Plan for Attaining Millennium Development Goals (MDGS) with Focus on Agra District, Problems and suggestions related to Hindi spellings in Agra District and Developing a Technology-Based Integrated Course in English Language skills and Pedagogical competence for Teacher Trainees of English as a Second language. DEI-FOERA is a research journal in education published by the faculty.
Faculty of Arts
It has the Department of Drawing & Painting, Department of English, Department of Hindi, Department of Home Science, Department of Music and Department of Sanskrit. Textile Designing & Printing, Journalism & Mass Communication, Theology, Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc)–Food Processing and Preservation and Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) – Apparel Manufacturing.
Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI) Admission Process
Once, the aspirant is through the application process, the admission process starts. The points below have all the information related to admission process and selection criteria. It’ll help the students to understand the basis on which the university selects the candidates. Keep in the mind the points given below during Dayalbagh Educational Institute Admission Process:

Admissions are made on the basis of Academic Merit, Written Objective Test and Personal Interview, as specified.

If the candidates have required marks in pre-qualifying or qualifying examination as well as in the written examination, they’ll be called for the interview. A candidate must obtain 30% marks in the written test of the concerned programme to be eligible for the interview. SC and ST candidates who conform to the eligibility criteria and appear in the written test will be called for the personal interview.

Final selection will be made on the basis of the merit list prepared on the basis of Merit, performance in the written test and personal interview.
Written Test
To take admission to the university, the aspirants have to attempt the written test as a part of the selection process. There’ll be no written test for B.Tech. as their JEE (Main) score will be considered. The list of selected students is usually available 4-5 day before the date of the written exam. It can be downloaded from the official website of the Institute.
Written Objective Test
Appearance in the written objective test is mandatory for taking admission in the university. Questions in the test would be objective and will be in the format of the MCQs with four possible answers out of which only one will be correct. The difficulty level of the exam will span over the level of the qualifying examination along with General Knowledge questions. There’ll be no negative marking.
Personal Interview
If the candidate conforms to the eligibility criteria and score at least 30% marks the probability of getting called for the personal interview increases five times the number of seat available. Schedule Tribe and Schedule Caste candidates need to only satisfy the eligibility criteria and appear in the entrance test to be called for the interview.
Candidates are required to produce the original documents along with self-attested photocopies at the time of the interview. A candidate who’ll be eligible for interview in more than one course will appear in the interview only once.
Final Selection
Final selection of the candidates will be based on the merit including marks allotted for extra-curricular activities. The merit list would be prepared on the basis of Academic Merit computed from the marks in various pre-qualifying examinations including marks obtained in written objective test or practical test and interview.
For MBA selection, Group Discussion would be considered instead of the marks obtained in pre-qualifying examination. For B.Tech selection JEE mains score will be considered instead of written test marks.

Online Application: Candidates seeking admission can also apply online through Common Application Form. The form is available on the official website. Instructions given in form must be read carefully before filling up the form. Facility of filling up the form online would also be available at the Institute. The candidates would have to contact the Help-Desk counter for the same. Aspirants are free to apply for more than one course in the application form.

Paper Based Application/ Offline Application: The Common Application Form along with the prospectus is available at the Institute Counter. A completely filled Common Application form should have no enclosures and must be submitted on or before the last date of submission. Aspirants can choose to apply for multiple courses in the form itself.

Non-Professional Courses: BA (Honours)/ BA Honours (Social Science)/ B.Com Honours/ B.Sc. Home Science Honours/ B.Sc. Honours/ MA Arts, Social Science/ M.Com/ M.Sc. Home Science/ M.Sc. Registration Fee is Rs. 5, plus, Rs.225 Application Processing Fee. Hence, the student has to pay Rs. 230 for every course he/ she apply.

Professional Courses: B.Tech./ M.Tech./ B.Ed./ M.Ed./ BBA Honours/ B.Voc./ M.Voc./ MBA/ PG Diploma Course/ M.Phil./ PhD. The registration cost is Rs. 5 and application processing fee is Rs. 265. The total amount that the student has to pay for applying to every course is Rs. 270 each.

The payment can be made online via Net Banking or Debit/ Credit Card using State Bank of India site by choosing State Bank Collect.

If the payment is made through cash, then the applicant needs to download and print the challan from SBI site and submit the fee in any branch of State Bank of India using the printed challan.

The candidate needs to carefully and clearly mention the correct application form number, name, date, contact number and amount on the challan.

The candidate needs to fill all the information required in the application form. If any question is left unanswered, the university has the right to terminate the application.
Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI) UG Admission
Dayalbagh Education Institute offers various undergraduate programmes under its 6 faculties. Some of the courses are Bachelor of Arts in Hindi, English Studies, Music, Sanskrit, Bachelor of Science in Home Science, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, etc. Few of the courses are only available for female candidates. The only eligibility criterion is to either be intermediate from DEI or any recognized Board of Secondary Education with minimum aggregate/cognate subject marks as specified by the university.

Dayalbagh Educational Institute Admission 2017
Dayalbagh Educational Institute, popularly known as DEI is situated in the city of Taj, Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The educational institution is a government body and was registered as one in 1973. Qualifying the top-notch standards of education, the institution has also been accredited Grade ‘A’ by NAAC.
The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate and M.Phil/ PhD programmes under its 6 faculties, namely, Arts, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Science and Social Sciences. The application can be made through online and offline modes within the time span specified by the university. The application process generally begins in the month of June. Seat reservations will be made as per the reservation policy defined by the Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh. The following points must be noted:

The aspirant wouldn’t be allowed to seek admission or claim reservation until he/she appears in national or state/common or university tests held for the purpose.
