Central University of Karnataka

The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) has been established by an Act of the Parliament (No. 3 of 2009) at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan Period to address the concerns of ‘equity and access’ and to increase the access to quality higher education by people in less educationally developed districts which have a Graduate Enrollment Ratio of less than the national average of 11%.

The University is located in the Gulbarga region of Karnataka which was the place of social reformation movement of the great 12th Century saint, Basweshwara. The University Logo signifies ‘Tree of Life’ which adheres to the policies of Peace, Harmony and Humanism.

The University has a 654 Acre campus and it has been claimed that CUK is the first central university to move to its permanent campus in a short time as compared to other universities. Central University of Karnataka Admission 2017

Central University of Karnataka also known as CUK was established in 2009 is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during UGC XI Plan Period. The University has been accredited Grade B++ by NAAC.

The University offers various courses at post-graduation and research level across streams like Arts, Science, Management, Engineering, etc. Students have the option to choose from various integrated courses, postgraduate programmes and PhD programmes like Integrated B.Tech and M.Tech., Integrated B.Sc. and M.Sc., MA English, MA Kannada, MA Economics, etc.

For taking admission, the University strictly follows online mode. Students need to go through an entrance test conducted by central universities known as CUCET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) to take admission. Each year one of the central universities conducts this exam. The application begins from March every year.

The University also reserves seats for ST/SC/OBC, Kashmiri Migrants, differently-abled, wards of defence personnel, NCC/NSS and Sports.

Foreign students can also apply for studying in this university. They need to submit the scanned copies of their documents and TOEFL score.
