The Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences was perceived by the University of Calcutta for post-graduate preparing and research in solution in 1963, the year of Swami Vvekananda's Birth Centenary. In 1977, the Indian Council of Medical Research initially remembered it for research work.
The Medical Council of India which recognisedt he Seva Pratishthan in 1966 for necessary rotatory preparing of new medicinal graduates, initially affirmed in 1979 for Post Graduate Degree courses moreover. The Institute has been recognisedby the University Grants Commission since 1987.
