Vidyasagar College is Located at the city of Kolkata or Calcutta, India. It is one of the leading Universities in India. Vidyasagar College was formed in the year 1872. The college had its origin in the Calcutta Training School that was founded by Thakurdas Chakraborty in 1859. The University of Calcutta approved association to the Institution for the First Arts (FA) standard. The birth of the first private and truly worldly college in the Presidency of Bengal was hailed as a milestone in the academic and cultural ethos of India. The University offers spectacular facilities like accommodation, transport, and cafeteria sports etc.

Infrastructures

The Institute’s infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities including well equipped labs, separate hostels for both boys and girls, well stocked library, fully furnished classrooms. The college has a state-of-art computer laboratory equipped with 60 P-IV nodes on LAN system with free internet access through 512 Kbps broadband facility.

The college has a well equipped and well stocked library with a rich collection of books and journals predominantly related to management and its allied subjects to meet the present and future information needs of its users. It is well equipped with periodicals, text books, study material, major dailies and popular magazines for both students and faculty.

The labs are good overall. The college has a morning and evening college. The teaching staff is not that sufficient. The campus is small and average. No hostels are provided. Canteen is there and it is cheap. Extracurricular activities are conducted and events like Freshers party, picnic, etc. are organised. The labs are not well-maintained.
