College of Physical Education embossed into training of teachers and leaders through Health, Physical Education, Sports and Recreational activities in order to accomplish the over all educational values attributed to Physical, Mental and Spiritual harmony and total wellbeing of all those who participate. Realizing the importance of the physical culture for the school and college going youth the Government of Karnataka Started a College of Physical Education. The Government College of Physical Education was transferred to Bangalore University. Since then, the college is one of its constituent colleges.

Infrastructures
The University offers good infrastructural facilities to its students that includes a library, hostel facilities, sports facilities, cafeteria, etc.
Library
The Library is housed in a magnificent star module functional building which includes separate wings for reference section, stack rooms and reading halls, periodical section, computer centre and administrative divisions. The collection of books has now crossed 3.5 Lakhs of printed books and continues to grow at the rate exceeding 5000 titles annually.
