Brief experience at SIBM, Bengaluru

I am a B.Com fresher. It's my first time I am living away from home. But that is not an issue to me at all in this college. Everyone is very friendly whether it be seniors or faculties. The hostel facilities are better than what I expected it to be. Campus is full of life even late at night. Various events develop you and your social connectivity. The campus surrounding is beautiful because of trees around it. I love the weather of this place a lot.

About the college life and faculty!

I wasn't very sure of the career I would want to choose. I had no goals growing up, so I thought of doing BBA or BCA or designing. I gave the entrance tests and got selected in SID, SICSR and NMIMS. So going by the name I chose BCA from SICSR as I wasn't sure of designing and preferred to stay in Pune. Let me just tell you about our campus first. There's a 6-7 storey building. THAT'S IT. We park our vehicles on the three sides of the buildings and pay INR 5 daily. Don't ask me talk about the canteen food. The management here is so bad. Nobody knows what work they are supposed to do. Person A will send you to B , B will send you to C, C won't know what to do so will send you back to A. If we have our first lecture at 10:00 AM, expect a mail at 9:45 that the lecture is cancelled. There are some teachers exceptionally good at what they teach but the others can't even speak English properly. There was a teacher who took 10 assignments saying they were 20-30 marks each the whole semester for internal evaluation of 40 marks. Some teachers are partial too, so if you want to pass in your internals, maintain good contacts. For assignments where we are expected to visit some place and take a survey or something, the college doesn't provide with any transportation, with any kind of help or reimbursement for that matter. In three years we haven't been taken anywhere outside the college. We study in an IT college and we have a website for tests, attendance and stuff like that which doesn't work. We aren't given any holidays, not even for Eid. And most importantly, our college Wi-fi DOESNT WORK.
