Stella Maris College was established in the year 1947 by the Society of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. The college envisioned to promote social development and allow greater access to higher education for women. The college offers various courses to the students. It is strict about attendance, 85% attendance is mandatory. The college helps in overall development of the students. It provides quality education and exposure. It help the students to learn and grow. Students are from different cultures and states. Seniors are helpful. Ragging free campus. Great academic facilities. Canteen serves variety of food. Labs and classrooms are well updated with latest technology. Placements are offered by reputed companies to deserving students. Teachers are helpful. They focus on both practical and theoretical knowledge. Teaching methods are innovative.

As a matter of fact, Stella Maris is a reputed college in the outside world but the students don't get to experience that much. The college works in a very insensitive way. The college makes a student's college life indeed very hard and monotonous.

Good college with good faculty

Stella is one of the only colleges offering this course, if you want to or have to study in Chennai then there's no better option. The teaching faculty is very good. The infrastructure of the college is great. The surrounding and accessibility are also good.

About my college!

My experience in the college has by far been average. The college is highly disciplined and the students are bound by rules which are a good thing sometimes. The attendance is something we need to maintain here. The college needs to focus more on extracurricular activities. Placements are quite good in this college.
