Stella Maris College was established in the year 1947 by the Society of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. The college envisioned to promote social development and allow greater access to higher education for women. The college offers undergraduate, post-graduate, M.Phil and PhD courses in the field of science, arts and commerce. The college is affiliated to University of Madras and is accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade.

It provides quality education and exposure. It help the students to learn and grow. Students are from different cultures and states. Seniors are helpful. Ragging free campus. Great academic facilities. Canteen serves variety of food. Labs and classrooms are well updated with latest technology. Placements are offered by reputed companies to deserving students. As a matter of fact, Stella Maris is a reputed college in the outside world but the students don't get to experience that much. The college works in a very insensitive way. The college makes a student's college life indeed very hard and monotonous.

My experience in the college has by far been average. The college is highly disciplined and the students are bound by rules which are a good thing sometimes.
