The Maha Swamiji of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam had cherished a desire to revive Kanchipuram to its pristine glory as a center of learning. The Viswa Mahavidyalaya at Kanchi was established with the benign Blessings of Their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji and it attained the status of Deemed University in 1993.
 
Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya, formed under the aegis of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Charitable Trust in 1993, is located in a sprawling complex of 50 acres at Enathur, at a distance of about 4 Kilometres from Kanchipuram.
 
The University has a campus in Poonamalle, Chennai, housing an ayurveda College, research centre and hospital. The University has a unique focus on integrating traditional knowledge with modern scientific practices with a global outlook.

Infrastructure of department is well equipped with all modern facilities.

Laboratory

The web centre has high end servers and is connected by ERNET’s 2MBps connectivity link Leased Line. Internet connection is available campus wide, through the campus network, to enhance research and teaching activities. The Computing and development centre has high end client systems which are used by staff and students for research and development activities.

Library

The library plays a vital role in supporting teaching learning and research through lending . Reference and enquiry services there are around 200000 books ,current periodicals and expanding range of electronic services including over 1,000 tapes and CD ROMS of which the library dedicates a deserve a collection of books to the IT World and subscribes to over 100 specialized national and international journals. Best college in the city

We should value the education with affordable fees. The college is so nice, good teaching faculty. The faculty will solve our doubts easily in an easy manner. Good infrastructure. Overall I am satisfied with the college with the peaceful atmosphere around the college.

My Experience at SCSVMV University

Our college is good in terms of placements, tuition fee, facilities, faculty, etc. but it is the best in terms of Infrastructure. Food at hostels is good and hostels are neat with only 2/3 sharing rooms. You can explore your talent in other activities like sports, singing, drums, mimes, etc. We have a huge library where different varieties of books are available like books of the international, national & local authors. One can have the freedom within the campus and our college is ragging free. The faculty not only teaches us subjects but they share their personal experiences which results in motivating us and also guides us in a right way and helps us in solving our doubts. But our college has simple rules and regulations which are to be followed by everyone. If you are on the right track you can enjoy happily and get placed in MNCs, the only thing you should be concerned about is your hard work.

Good college with nice placements

There are few faculties in ECE department. You can learn things as much you can. If you are sincere, they will help you a lot in studies. Also, if you are interested to write some journals, the faculty will help you a lot.The library is good with an adequate amount of books. There are lots of volumes to explore. Hostel facilities are good. Extracurricular activities are much fun here.

I am a passed out student of EEE

In terms of education and to gain practical knowledge SCSVMV university is so good. At my time placements were very poor for EEE, ME, Civil and EE departments and average for ECE, CSE & IT guys.
