The Department offers Engineering degree courses. To educate, train and develop highly competent electrical & electronics engineers capable of designing modern circuits with diverse applications ranging from low voltage to extra high voltage applications. Also to design advanced electronics circuits for varied applications.

Inside and outside SASTRA UNIVERSITY

Yeah.. Hii everyone. I like to represent my college (SASTRA )before you. Coming to the point.. My college ranks 25 th place in top25 eng clgs.NAAC grade is 3.5 as everyone know. It provides a very Good platform to expose and excel yourself in your career. If we utilise the facilities and opportunities provided by them your the best and no one can't beat you. They will encourage you in each and every aspect. Many start ups and entrepreneurs are originated from SASTRA.Now they are in very good position. There were many research on going projects. We have a central library including many books for each and every department and a digital library. We have research lab in ASK building comprises an equipment costs some crores.Apart from engineering,SASTRA provides school of law, B. com,MBA ,polytechnic and several other courses. People from other States and country will come here for studies. Coming to fests.,we have 3 main fests and some department wise fests. Main fests include COLOSSEUM, DAKSH, KURUKSASTRA. Colosseum is sports fest where students from different colleges will participate and make their college to be proud. DAKSH is a technical fest. Here comes what we all are eagerly waiting is cultural fest KURUKSASTRA. It is a big fest where guests like famous singers,Musicians,artists,instrumentalists will come and give their best and what the meaning of kuruksastra is like a healthy fought between colleges to win . As far as now, I boosted my college, now it's time for other side to be known like a coin having 2 sides. We have 3 midterm exams, best 2 can be chosen. And one more if you get CGPA more than 7.5 we have a eligible to take open elective(OE) classes. The advantage to take OE is there is no need of studying 8 th semester syllabus as where are completing it from 4 th sem, like each sem having one OE. And we have SAP (semester abroad program) means we can study our last sem in foreign countries. The main thing I don't like is for every one month one mid will come, if you want to take up my alternative or online course or want to learn new programming language there is no time,that to 3 midterms.And after this test we thought to take rest but not OE exam will take place then again exams that's all the cycle repeats. Students will feel hectic schedule. This type of education system must be changed. Now,coming to hostel, we have 2 permissions to go home. We have 3 canteens which serves really a good foods most of them will depend on these canteens. Sports facilities are also excellent. We have basketball court, football court, tennis court, badminton court, indoor stadium. Gym for both girls and boys separately. We(especially girls) are not allowed to go outside unless or until with a permission or with a parent. Boys can roam and come to hostel. But not in the case of girls. We ate permitted to roam only in college and one more condition is girls have to wear only salrwar kamiz ,no tops,no jeans etc. They will treat everyone equally. And have good medical facilities. One more good thing is they provide hostel scholarships to the students according to their fund allocated, they will give per person 16000/- they provide one more scholarship like Dean's scholarship (9000)or above according to grade they score, means people with top 10% will get that scholarship. Drawback here is people getting Dean's scholarhip are again eligible to get hostel scholarship. This is not fair. This system should be changed. Happy to say here that there is no ragging. Everyone is friendly. Coming to placements, as far as know there is 100%placements.Many famous and core companies will come. Its all your knowledge and hard work make you to place in good company. I conclude by saying that it is worth to study in this college.Get Good CGPA and place in a good company. Overall it is best place to study. Last but not least I am proud to be an sastraite.

A place to create new ideas and enrich ourselves

The college surroundings are good to just roam around. Libraries are good. Hostel facility is provided. Good facilities are provided to us by the college. The seniors are nice. Extracurricular activities are conducted. Fests are conducted. The ethnicity of the college is good. Various companies visit the college for placements. The faculty is understanding and they make us fall in love with the subject.
