Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024Orissa Engineering College (OEC) prepares innovative and energetic minds for the engineering world. OEC was commenced in the year 1986 and it was the first private engineering college to be established in Odisha. OEC is a strong component of Nabajyoti Charitable Trust’s endeavor to provide quality education. College imparts excellent undergraduate & postgraduate programmes for its students. Orissa Engineering College is affiliated to the Biju Patnaik University of Technology and has been approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The objective of the college is to impart high standard education to the fresh minds by injecting positive attitude for creating new products. OEC has seven separate engineering departments, which are well equipped with latest apparatus and assist students in their research and experiments. Except of academics OEC imparts global standard amenities for its students that makes friendly atmosphere for learning. The vision of the College is to impart Quality Technical Education and Research with emphasis on Entrepreneurship.

Placement
College regularly recuriting its students in top national & multinational companies by providing them world class level traininig through experts. From the past years the visiting companies’ ratio has been increased in a very fast speed, which shows the product quality of the college. The placment cell of the college also oranises various training programmes such as Workshop on MATLAB, FDP on ORACLE, FDP on JAVA.
The placement cell imparts pre-placement training, which is divided into three categories:
- Technical – This takes care of their technical proficiency in the technical subjects related to Computer Science
- Aptitude – This training is meant for preparing students to face the written exams which are part of the recruitment process of most of the companies.

Soft Skills – This training is imparted to students to enhance their communication skills and to teach corporate etiquettes so that they are well prepared not only to face group discussion, interviews, role plays and other assessments but have no problem in blending into the corporate culture after joining a company.

The campus is fully encircled by greenery, flower beds, water ponds which create a salubrious environment for the academics. Classroom
Orissa Engineering College (OEC) has well furnished and trendy classrooms. All classrooms provides a special learning environment, a touch screen white board is integrated with the LCD projector and a computer.
Laboratory
College has a computer lab for the students and also some others labs for science department. The computer lab of the college is well kit out with latest software’s, windows, scanner etc. The labs of the college assist students in their practicals, projects and assignments. Computer lab of the college is well connected with internet facility which helps students in searching information related to their programmes.
Library
College has well stocked library, which known as Sudhanshu Mohan Library named after Late Sri. Sudhanshu Mohan Patnaik. The library of the college was commenced on 7th September, 1998. The library of the college comprises books, periodicals, pamphlets, manuscripts, magazines, journals with a collection of over 41075 learning making learners intellectually strong for the society.
