National Power Training Institute, an ISO 9001:2000 and 14001 association, has been set up by Ministry of Power (Government of India) to work as national peak body for the Human Resource Development for Indian Power Sector. NPTI Nagpur has been keeping up number one position throughout the previous 4 years among its Regional Institutes.

Power Engineering (not equivalent to mechanical or electrical)

No permanent faculty members are available for 2 years. Laid back approach of teachers in the 3rd and 4th year as they are doing the administrative work also. They don't care if company comes or not as their jobs are secured. Power is mash up of mechanical and electrical. We don't get equivalency either mechanical or electrical. So after 4 years, you cannot sit for mechanic or electrical post in state government exams except Mahagenco.
