Placement
Institute has its own Placement Cell for the guidance in the Summer internship and Placement procedure. It works under the guidance of the Training and Placement Officer in consultation with FIC. Regular Personality Development sessions, workshops, and seminars are conducted to prepare the students fully to face the placement process.
Infrastructures
NIT Silchar is situated on a sprawling campus spread over 600 acres {2.43 km2} of land on the outskirts of Silchar amid breathtaking scenery. It is surrounded by beautiful lakes and hillocks.

The Institute computing facility includes high-end workstations and Intel Pentium based Personal Computers. All the computing resources of the Institute are connected through a gigabit backbone LAN. The Institute has its Internet Access facility through a 2-MBPS leased line circuit from M/S. BSNL and a 64 KBPS SCPC VSAT Link from ERNET. It is planned to enhance the 64 KBPS SCPC VSAT into a 1MBPS DAMA VSAT for additional bandwidth for Internet access during the current year. Faculty members have
