Placement

NIFT Placement Cell facilitates on campus placements for graduating students of NIFT to enable them to start their careers in challenging positions. Leading national and international apparel companies vie with each other to recruit NIFT professionals. The star employers of NIFT professionals in the past from domestic companies have been United Colours of Benetton, Provogue, Weekender, Schullers, Urban yoga, Be::, Van Huesan, Louis Phillip, Spykar Jeans, Lacoste, Gap, eSpree, Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Park Avenue and Parks, Excalibur, Wills Lifestyle, Lifestyle, Shopper's Stop, Pantaloons, Tommy Hilfiger, Triburg, etc. have been regularly offering key decision making positions to our graduating students.

Infrastructures

The Institute has infrastructure with well equipped Labs, Class rooms, Girls Hostel, Hall etc. The institute also provides a regular transport facility to convey students to do their industry visits.

Library

The Library wing of the Resource Centre has rich collection of books, journals, A-V materials, CD-ROMS etc., Books on subjects like arts & Crafts, Fashion, Garment Manufacturing, Leather, Footwear, Leather Goods, Jewelery, Management, Merchandising etc., are available at the Library.

A year in National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai

The college is one of a kind. The faculties inspire you in so many ways. The people here are quite friendly. The college has good infrastructure and the environment is also good.

Hectic and very time consuming

REJECTED : NEGATIVE REVIEW / COLLEGE NOT MENTIONED ON FB Although the course does look very glamorous on the outside, it's very time consuming and hectic. But the good thing is we are so used to the hectic life that we are very much prepared to face the industry. We are not provided time to focus on extra curriculars or on our social life because we are always kept busy.

National Institute of fashion technology - the best design school

My experience in NIFT Chennai for one year has brought so much change in me. I've enjoyed my time there. I did face few ups and downs in the beginning but gradually I settled down. The faculties have been very friendly and broad minded. In spite of the huge amount of work given in our college we do enjoy doing it coz it's fun and interesting. We go out on many educational trips and explore a lot. The only thing I don't like is we don't have a good transport. We have only one Swaraj Mazda which is not AC and everyone in our college gets to share that one bus.

Review of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai

NIFT Chennai is a great place for people with a keen interest in design and fashion technology to develop their skills in all the respective fields. It's definitely one of the best fashion colleges in India and the best in Chennai. This is a really fun and creative place where one can have really good experiences. But all the courses are very hectic. There's a lot of hard work and sleepless nights involved, but I think that's going to help us in the future though it makes life hard now. So unless this course is one's passion, it's going to be too hard to pull through for four years.
