Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024With a view to cater to the needs of technical education in Saurashtra region of Gujarat, Morbi Technical Institute(MIT) was commenced in 1931. The late Honorable his highness Lukhdhirji donated his palace with 40 acres of land, in 1951 on the bank of river Machhu, aptly named after Lukhdhirji. Thus MTI could be upgraded to its present state as Lukhdhirji Engineering College.
Initially the L. E. College was established to offer conventional degree courses in disciplines like Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Gradually the diversified disciplines like Industrial, Production, Power Electronics and Information Technology, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics were introduced at the degree level and the Ceramic, Metallurgy, Electronics & Communication at the diploma level besides conventional diploma courses. The institute is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Saurashtra University, Rajkot, (Gujarat) as well as Gujarat Technological University.

Placement
L.E. College Morbi has always been a top choice of recruiters and thus every year large number of companies visit the campus for on-campus/off-campus placements and offer jobs in various profiles to final year students. Several MNCs like Infosys, ABB, Essar, Tata Motors, L&T, Reliance Industries Limited etc. and some prominent PSUs like WASMO, GNFC etc have visited L.E. College Morbi for placement in recent years. For 2016 batch several prominent MNCs have visited the campus so far and recruited students with a good CTC. The industries which visited college campus for placements of 2016 batch are Zeus Learning, JustDial.com, Hitachi Hirel Power Electonics Limited, Wipro Technologies,Collebara, Torrecid, Sanmar, Tata Chemicals, Ferromatic Milacron, Adani Power, Mahindra Gears, Electrotherm India Limited, Suzlon, Harsha Engineers, Ginza Surat, Shankar Packaging etc. Also placement season for 2017 has already begun and is going on in full pace.
