Loyola College, a Catholic Minority Institution, was founded in 1925 by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) with the mission of providing quality university education in a Christian atmosphere to deserving students, regardless of caste or creed. The college began with 75 students in three undergraduate courses—Mathematics, History, and Economics—and has since grown into one of India’s premier institutions.

Though affiliated with the University of Madras, Loyola became autonomous in 1978, gaining the freedom to design its own curriculum and adopt innovative teaching and evaluation methods, while degrees continue to be awarded by the University. Recognized by the UGC as a “College with Potential for Excellence” in 2004 and later elevated to “College of Excellence” (2014–2019), Loyola has consistently upheld its reputation for academic distinction. The NAAC reaccredited it with a 3.70/4 CGPA in 2012.

Today, the college offers 19 UG and 19 PG programs, along with M.Phil. and Ph.D. opportunities across multiple departments, serving over 12,000 students. With a highly qualified faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a strong focus on research, Loyola continues to lead in higher education.

Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)	10	The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university (AIU), with a consistent record of first class (Minimum 60% marks. Candidates should have cleared all subjects in their first attempt itself) in Std X, Std XII and graduation. Those appearing for their final year examination can also apply provided they produce a course completion certificate by June, 2017. Selection Process Candidates who have applied to LIBA will be short-listed only on the basis of their CAT 2016/ XAT 2017 scores. Short-listed candidates will be called for a group discussion and an interview for final selection. Group discussions and interview will be held at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai. Candidates selected for the PGDM Programme shall pay the prescribed fees, not later than the date mentioned in their admission letter along with the following documents: Mark sheets of the graduation course. My experience of having been a student/ studied in LIBA is nothing short of wonderful. I would love to go there and live the life all over again - if I could. At LIBA, there's a good mix of students from all over the country, and there's plenty of opportunities to learn and enjoy learning at the same time. To start off, there's plenty of clubs such as Placements committee, 360 Degrees - The Student Affairs committee, LIBA Alumni committee, Finesse (Finance club), MarkIt (Marketing club), Le Vox Populi (HR club), E-cell (Entrepreneurship club) etc. There's plenty of exposure to activities outside the ring of academics such as guest lectures from dignified members of the society every week, social outreach program, outbound learning program, marathon case study and much more. LIBA is nothing short of an experience of a lifetime. Students generally have a great time during their stay - balancing academics and learning to have fun while at it. We have celebrated almost every festival that is known and famous (including Halloween). The college management has always encouraged us to participate/ prove our mettle in events hosted by other colleges and boy, we've won in many competitions and made heads turn. LIBA has a decent infrastructure (which is improving year on year) and the prescribed courses are taught by the best faculty. We have plenty of visiting faculty (Even international) who teach specific courses.
