Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore was established on January, in the year 1955. The Medical Council of India granted recognition to KMC Mangalore in 1958, with the first graduating class. Recognition by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council followed soon. The College was first affiliated to Karnataka University and later in 1965 to Mysore University, followed by affiliation to Mangalore University in 1980.

GENERAL CATEGORY: Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET). NOTE: Only candidates who have secured minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in MU-OET will be considered for admissions . FOREIGN/NRI CATEGORY: Admissions under this category are handled by a separate office. Candidates can apply both under General and Foreign/NRI category. Change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission will not be entertained under any circumstances. GOVERNMENT CATEGORY: Few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected and sponsored by Karnataka Examinations Authority, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore. | - |
