Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University was started in the year 1953 with only pre-clinical section and was converted into an independent college in 1969. The college offers MBBS, MD, MS, MSc, M.Phil, MCh, DM, PhD, Certificate and Diploma courses with different specialization. The College is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI).

Laboratory
College imparts air conditioned laboratories for the students. College provides laboratory facilities for MBBS, MD (Biochemistry), M Sc (Biochemistry), Ph.D as well as BMLT/ DMLT students. The laboratories of the college assist students and faculty in their research and give them practical knowledge about their programmes. The Department has two departmental libraries, one meant for the PG students and the other for the faculty. Both these libraries have the latest editions of all the major text books and reference books in the field of biochemistry for quick and convenient reference.
