Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology is affiliated to U.P Technical University. The institute offers Bachelor of Technology, Master of Technology and Master of Computer Applications courses.KNIT was Initially Established as the Faculty of Technology in Kamla Nehru Institute of Science and Technology, Sultanpur in the year 1976 by Kamla Nehru Memorial Trust. It was taken over by the govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 1979 with a view to develop a full-fledged engineering institute in the Eastern UP region better known as the Awadh region. Later, in the year 1983 it was registered as a separate society and renamed as the Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology.The Institute is one of the leading technical institutions of the region and is responsible for producing top-grade engineers with skill sets comparable with the best in the world. Being fully aware of its social responsibilites and the addressing the issue of application of technology to industry, it also renders the testing and consultancy services to the neighbouring industries and various other agencies.

The admission to Autumn (first) Semester of first year is made through the SEE-UPTU conducted by the admission Committee, a statutory body of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh presently located at UPTU, Lucknow, except for the seats which are reserved for foreigners/N.R.I/N.R.I. sponsored candidates and for other state nominees which are controlled by the Govt. of India. -
Master of Technology (Power Electronics & Drives) - Minimum qualification Bachelor of Technology or Graduation. Selection is based on entrance exam held by the university. -
Master of Technology (Civil Engineering) - Minimum qualification Bachelor of Technology or Graduation. Admission to the part-time M.Tech. courses is made on the basis of merit of a candidate in a written test/interview conducted by the concerned department on a specified date. -

An 8 MBPS internet facility through leased line is available in all academic departments,admininistrative building, hostels and faculty residences.

Library

There is a central library located at the first floor of the administrative building. It has 33,000 books & journals. There is a good collection of latest foreign & Indian books useful to students as per the curriculum of UP Technical University, Lucknow. The library subscribes 31 foreign & 40 Indian journals every year. It operates in Open Access System. The student & staff have free access to book & journals in the library. The automation of library is under process. There is separate reading

Reality Check of KNIT Sultanpur

PLAGIARISED Placements : Recruiters are mainly TCS and WIPRO. WIPRO recruits through campus pool which is held at IET Lucknow. For CSE and IT, Greymeter and Amazon also recruit in very less numbers. For electronics, Mediatek and Lava recruit a buch of students. Lava also recruits from Electrical. For Civil only Ansal recruits. During 2015-16, 120+ were placed in TCS and 60+ in WIPRO. Packages of TCS and WIPRO were around 3,33,000 CTC annually. Infrastructure : There are 6 hostels for boys namely Ramanujam, Aryabhatt, VS Hostel, New VS Hostel, Khosla and Gargi. There is one hostel for girls which is Maitreiyee. The quality of living in hostels in average but the quality of food is surely not good. Wifi and electricity services are good. Apart from food, everything is okie. Roadside dhabas are mostly the stomach fulfillers for KNITians. Main are Baba Dhabha and Adarsh Dhabha. Saturday dinner is not provided so you have to eat from outside. In the city there are good restaurants to have food like Savera, Dana Pani, Mehman, Sundae and Cool Home. In case of medical emergency, college ambulance service ia available mostly all the times. The infrastructure of classrooms is average but labs are not good at all. Also in labs, it would just be a mere formality doing practicals. Attendance issue is always there till 3rd year. In the final year not many classes occur. You mostly spend most of the time in your hostels in the final year. Sports in not that promoted in our college. There is always a fund issue whenever any team wants to participate outside. In the college premises there are two canteens one is Parag and other is PNB Canteen. Junk food is sold only. You can't find a proper meal there. College bus is there during evenings to carry students to city market and bring them back. This will be the best service you will find in the college. College administration is not at all supportive. Sarkari babu attitude is always there. Faculty : Mostly the professors come and give their lecture with no doubt session at all. Interest development in the subject is never their job as per them. You just have to attend the lectures for attendance not for knowledge. As the college is autonomous, the examination would mainly be from the already know few topics. No deep learning sort thing is there. Other Details : During the first year of your admission you will curse yourself for being in the college. Later on you will be okay with everything. You will find friends with which you will pass four years very easily. Sometimes there is fight with the localities. Its not a big issue though. There is a library also where you will find everything but not the one you want. Library card will be issued. Cultural and Technical festivals occur but not that often or surely. Mostly the funds are collected by students by their own from various sponsors and alumni. No support I mean financial is there from the college administration.

Review: Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology

I studied in KNIT from 2011 to 2015 and that was a great feeling. It is an autonomous Government institute. It has a good study environment. You can learn a lot, thereafter you can stand perfectly in the market. There are lots of facilities as expected. KNITians stand at every place and are able to compete in every competitive examination.
