The institute offers Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, Master of Business Administration and Master of Computer Application course.The very name Jeppiaar has grown to be synonymous with excellence in education and the Jeppiaar Educational Trust was formed in 1987, with the sole purpose of providing cutting edge technical education that is both accessible and affordable by establishing premier colleges of Engineering and Management studies. Under the aegis of our honourable Chairman, the esteemed Dr. Jeppiaar, Jeppiaar Engineering College was inaugurated on 15th August 2001 as one of the spearheading institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust. The directors of the college Mr. N. Marie Wilson and Mrs. Regeena Wilson have led the college from its fledgling state to an institution to reckon with. The vision of our directors and their dedication to the cause of technical education combined with their dynamic approach to leadership has made a telling difference to the growth of the college. The boundless energy of Dr. Sushil Lal Das, principal of the college, is also a source of inspiration to our students. Jeppiaar Engineering college is affiliated to Anna University and in the short period since it was started has grown into an institution that provides excellent technical education while keeping the overall growth and development of the students in mind. Both academic and non-academic activities are given equal importance, at Jeppiaar Engineering College we take our students’ success very seriously. Infrastructures
The college is situated at Jeppiaar Nagar on Old Mammallapuram Road, Chennai in an area of 48 acres. The college provides modern teaching facilities and buildings represented through modern architecture, giving the precinct a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere. The infrastructure also includes a state of art air-conditioned computer laboratory with servers and internet facilities; and work stations have welding and smithy equipments that provide hands on experience to our engineering students. Apart from this, each department has its own discipline based laboratories for study and research.The other facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, extensive libraries, seminar halls for UG and PG, reading hall, outdoor and indoor sports grounds, medical room and dining hall for Staff, Students and visitors. The college offers excellent transport facilities to all the students who commute from different parts of the city. The college mess provides homely, healthy, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food to all.
Classroom
A fully air conditioned and 540 seat Mini Auditorium of 4200 sqft is ideal for a seminar or conference or Video Conference. A fully air conditioned and 270 seat Mini Auditorium of 3200 sqft is ideal for a seminar or conference or Audio- Visual facility.
Laboratory
Institute has Common First Year Lab, Computer Science, Information Technology, Language Lab and Recording Studio, Electronics and Communication Engineering lab, Electrical and Electronics Engineering lab, Industrial Bio Technology lab, Mechanical Engineering lab.
Library
Our College Library has been built to International Standards, Spread over an area of 5100sq.m. It is centrally air-conditioned. Specialized collectionof books,Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Humanities and sciences.The collection is replete with 1,04,397 Volumes of Books, 8,292 Titles & 550 CDs.
