The college was declared autonomous in the year 1998 by the government of Madhya Pradesh. College provides ideal under graduate and Post graduate engineering programmes for the learners. This famous Institution got the distinction of being the Second Engineering College in India and is the premier institution of Engineering Education in Central India. The mission of the college is to conduct research in the frontier areas and to develop innovative and creative problem solving skills.

Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) imparts world class laboratories for the learners. The laboratories of the institute are well stocked with latest apparatus and assist learners and faculty in their research.

Library

The well stocked library of the college is imparting knowledge through its rich collection of more than One Lakh Ten Thousand volumes of books. The library of the college includes text books recommended by the University.Encyclopedia’s, handbooks, dictionaries, Project reports, bound volumes of periodicals 3000 CD’s. Students belonging to General Category, 5 books are issued and for SC&ST 7 books are issued.

Jabalpur Engineering College Review

JEC is one the most reputed colleges in Jabalpur. It is better than other private colleges in the same city. Pollution free campus. Surrounding is clean and full of greenery. Accessibility is not good. The college management is cooperative and lenient. No restrictions for attendance. Infrastructure is old fashioned. Labs are not equipped properly. Classrooms are clean. There is a lake named Robertson Lake inside the premises. There are cases of violence between the hostelers and localities. No politics between the management. Healthy ragging is done by the seniors sometimes. No events as there are no sponsors. Unpaid internships are provided to the students during holidays. Faculties use old-fashioned teaching methods. No digital learning.

Best college in Madhya Pradesh

Jabalpur Engineering College is the best engineering college of Madhya Pradesh. It's an autonomous college. It provides a lot of job opportunities. It's location near to the city and 5km to the station. It's also the nodal centre of city. The first electronic and communication engineering branch is open there at 1948. It is an old college since 1947.

Decent college with less fees & a good environment

The infrastructure is good, all labs are provided, machines are also working despite of all these practical knowledge provide by lab attendant or professors are not sufficient. Placement is good for CS/ IT companies but for Core not enough companies visit. For my branch this year L&T, Reliance & Uttam Galva came & took approximately 6 students.

Just Ragging. The Whole Year, The Whole 4 Years.Don't Choose

The college has an unhealthy amount of ragging and the professors are no help in that. The good thing about this college is its affordability but the placements aren't that good here.
