Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024The Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, affiliated to the University of Kashmir, is a premier learning Institute of the J & K State. The College is about to complete its fifty years of glorious service in the field of academics, Sports, performing arts and other extra-Curricular activities. The Government of Jammu and Kashmir established this Institute in the year 1961 during the Prime-ministership of Late Bakhshi Ghulam Mohammed as an Autonomous Educational Institute with a view to offer higher education at both Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels in various disciplines of Science and Management studies .

Placement
Placement cell in helping the Students to find on-the-job training in different private and public sector enterprises.
Infrastructures
The College, situated in the Sheri-Khas locality of Srinagar, is the only College of its kind that can boast of having a spacious campus with clean and green environment. The College has a dispensary where first- aid medical treatment is provided to the Students and the faculty during the College hours throughout the year. In case of serious illness or accident the cases are shifted to hospitals. The College plans, in future, to establish a mini -health center in the campus.
Laboratory
The College is developing the Chemistry, Zoology and Bio-Technical research Lab on the latest lines to make the lab one of the best labs of the State Colleges. The lab is being equipped with the electronic gadgetries of the latest configuration.
Library
The Central library of the College is one of the richest libraries of the State. At present the library maintains a wide range and rich collection of about 78,0000 volumes on different subjects of Science, Arts, Commerce and Management Studies, besides subscribing to over 87 journals and periodicals.
