Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is an autonomous university . It was set up as a not-for-profit public private partnership (NPPP) and is the first IIIT to be set up (under this model) in India. The Government of Andhra Pradesh lent support to the institute by grant of land and buildings. A Governing Council consisting of eminent people from academia, industry and government presides over the governance of the institution. IIIT-H was set up as a research university focused on the core areas of Information Technology, such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, and their applications in other domains. The institute evolved strong research programmes in a host of areas, with computation or IT providing the connecting thread, and with an emphasis on the development of technology and applications, which can be transferred for use to industry and society. This required carrying out basic research that can be used to solve real life problems. As a result, a synergistic relationship has come to exist at the Institute between basic and applied research.

The institute has well equipped with all the modern facilities.
Classroom
The classrooms are well furnished with all the modern facilities.
Laboratory
The Institute has well-equipped, air-conditioned computer laboratories allocated batch-wise to the students. They contain the latest hardware and software. The average PC-to-student ratio is 1:2. All computers are part of an intranet (1Gbps Backbone), which connects all buildings, including the hostels; and a high-bandwidth (8 Mbps) internet is available round the clock. The Library has a large collection of Reference Books, Text Books, Technical reports, Standards, Literature books and CDROMS. We subscribe to over 150 journals/magazines. The Library is being managed with fully integrated multi-user Library Management Software. Using this software, cataloguing and circulation services are being automated along with Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) facility. A digital library is also maintained. It is an online archive of useful software, books and tutorials
