Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research was established on 1987 inaugurated by former Indian Prime Minister Late. Shri Rajiv Gandhi.  Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research is approved by UGC and NAAC. The institute offers Master of Science, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy courses. The institute provides quality education with highly experienced faculty members. The institute got Deemed University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The Institute's infrastructure is well furnished with all modern facilities. The vision 7 mission of the college is to promote and conduct research on developmental issues from a broad inter- disciplinary perspective (economic, technological, social, political and ecological).
