The Bangalore Centre of the Indian Statistical Institute was conceived by Prof.P.C.Mahalanobis.Β It is a tribute to his foresight that the Institute is now well-established in one of the most vibrant scientific communities in Asia. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in varoius streams.Β

Classrooms are well furnished.
Laboratory
DRTC has its own Computer-Cell equipped with 12 P IV computers with centralized 2 MB Internet connectivity. In addition to it, the Institute also has a Computer Centre with 11 P IV PCs and DEMO Lab with several PCs. These can be used by all the students and faculty.
Library
The library of the centre has, over the years, transformed itself into a hybrid library and provides state of the art library service to its users. The library subscribes to 300 highly ranked journals in the areas of interest to the Centre. Library has a collection of around 25,000 books, 500 CDs, 15,000 back issues of journals and provides access to about 450 e-journals.
