ILS Law College was commenced by the Indian Law Society in the year 1924 under the    Societies Registration Act. Indian Law Society is public charitable trust. ILS College is one of the leading institutes of legal studies in India. College believes in overall development of its students for which ILS encourage students by organising social, cultural, and physical activities and makes them competent for solving various legal issues of the nation. ILS was accredited the A+ level by NAAC.  College prepares student for conducting basic legal research.

Placement

The active placement cell of the college imparts final placement and summer placement to all its learners. The placement cell of the college trained its learner through rigours training through their eminent faculty of each programme. The objective of the placement cell is to provide proper training to bring students to required level of employability.

Procedure for placement:

  • The cell identifies firms and organisations and invites them for joining placement in the College.
  • Students’ interviews take place during the 'placement-weeks' in January-February of the academic year.
  • Organisations make presentations about their activities, identify students for interviews, and conduct interviews/group discussions.
  • Some organisations also invite students to visit their offices for interviews.

Infrastructures

College facilities comprise majestic architecture buildings with world class resources. The campus of the college extended from the Sarswati Building which houses the library, the reading room, the administrative office, the conference hall and the Principal's office. College has another building, which is Laxmi building comprises over fifteen halls for regular lectures, legal aid centre and an auditorium with a capacity of 400 people, used for guest lectures, college functions and presentations.

Library

A library is the delivery room for the birth of ideas, a place where history comes to life." ILS Law College library has rich collection of over 45,000 books and volumes of periodicals, journals and magazines and is rated as one of India's best libraries. The library of the college subscribes to over 95 Indian and foreign journals each year, including the All England Reports, The American Journal of Comparative Law, The Cambridge and Oxford Law Journals, etc. library also imparts

Infrastructure, teaching faculty, Canteen and Education

ILS Law college is the best college. The infrastructure is classic, there are two buildings, Laxmi and Saraswati, and both of them are nice. Campus surroundings feel like a hill station. Peacocks sometimes come to the campus. The college playground is big. The quality of education is very good. The faculty members are experts in their fields. A lot of opportunities are here due to SP Sathe conference, Moot courts. A good placement cell and placement opportunities. The campus is WiFi enabled. Canteen needs improvements. There are parking charges but they shouldn’t be there. The library is huge and well-stocked. 75% attendance is compulsory. I am proud to be a part of this college.

ILS Law College Review

Its been a mixed experience getting into the ILS law college. I think every law student in India, needs to prepare himself before hand. Being aware of how the profession works and also, how the teaching systems, is important to avoid unreasonable expectations. The law schools has a huge potential to grow, and offers ways in which a person can grow himself. No spoon feeding of any kind. It is a good place to study law.

ILS Law College Review

The college is located in Pune. Good surrounding. Easy access to public transport. The infrastructure is really old as the college was established in 1992, but it gives the college a decent and vintage look. The campus is huge. Classrooms and labs are good. Library has all the books. Only drawback is the crowd as most of them are from backward localities which makes it difficult for some students to adjust. Fest is organised every year. Placements are great. Most of them get placed in reputed companies. Some of the faculties are knowledgeable and helpful, while some of them are not.

Overall Review of ILS

Few professors were absolutely good, but many were bad. They made class very boring because of which the student tend to become restless as attendance was compulsory. Some professors were sadistic and some were genuinely good. Luckily, I never had any problems with any of the faculty members and I also went along with almost all the professors I had. Still to certain extend one can blame the faculty, but ultimately it all depends on the syllabus set by the university. ILS was quite strict about attendance. Some students had also taken extreme steps like suicide because they couldn’t meet the 75% attendance requirement. So if you are planning to study in this college please give this point a thought. Overall, I had a great experience in the college and in the last two years, I learned a lot from the institute about law and outside law. After NLU's, I think ILS Law College deserves its due place.

College environment and infrastructure

ILS is situated on a lush green hill and it is a wonderful experience to be in a college surrounded by scenic beauty. The classes are conducted in the laxmi building and, the office and the library is situated in the saraswati building. The library has a wide range of books and it is very helpful for moots, research papers, class work, etc.
