Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (H.B.T.I) recognize as a perfect model for inventive & advanced education, since 1921. In erstwhile college is known as a "Government Research Institute, , Cawnpore" (1920) & "Government Technological Institute" in 1921. Finally in year 1926 it got the name by which we knowing it presently “Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (H.B.T.I) ". The college is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow. The objective of the H.B.T.I is to contribute in the development of various industries by shaping proficient men and women, who can apply scientific skills soundfully in fostering their society. Institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for students in various fields of engineering and computer application. The campus of the college is a picture postcard spread across in two campuses, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres). Both the campus is well equipped with necessary resources that make academics congenial for its students.

The aesthetically designed campus of the HBTI is located in the leather city of India, Kanpur, The favoured infrastructure amenities of the college makes learning congenial for its students. The institute is spread across two campuses, the east campus (77 acres) and the west campus (271 acres) situated about 3 km apart. HBTI has a well constructed edifice comprises classrooms, library, labs, seminar room for various activities.
Classroom
HBTI has well ventilated spacious classrooms, which are well equipped with amenities like projector & audio-video. Every classrooms of the college has a green board or a black board with computer white board & a podium and a noticed board is also provided in every classroom.
Laboratory
The computer centre of the college assists students and faculty in their various programmes and researches. The computer centre of the college is fully packed with amenities like state of the art servers, high end linux and windows labs and application software. The computer centre provides internet access, which is provided through a 50 Mbps dedicated Internet link. HBTI library has a vast collection of latest books pertaining to engineering and computer application field, journals, and periodicals.
