PLAGIARISED Location: Government Homeopathic Medical College (GHMC) is located off Magadi Road near Basaveshwaranagar in Western Bangalore. BMTC buses ply from near the college with a frequency as good as 5 minutes. Infrastructure: It’s a pretty small college with a tiny little courtyard. The college premises are well maintained and students hold no complaints against classrooms or labs. The college provides a digital library (where e-books & internet can be accessed) besides the normal library which has abundant books. Some people say Wi-Fi is also there but it cannot be accessed. Unlike many other Government Colleges, hostels are decent; at least for the fees they charge (it’s Rs. 8-10K for the entire year). The boys hostel is close to the campus, while the girls hostel is a little far. Faculty: While a few departments are said to lack good teachers, overall the teaching is just fine. Students tend to have a good relation with most of the faculties. Attendance & Discipline: Government Homepathic Medical College (GHMC) maintains that every student should have 80% attendance with a 5-10% relaxation allowed. However in most cases strict actions are not taken until and unless your attendence is severely low. The threat for not being able to attend exams starts from below 75% attendance but harsh actions are executed only if your attendance is below 50%. Crowd: Girls outnumber guys by a comfortable margin; almost a ratio of 3:1; that’s 3 girls for each boy. Lucky guys! Students come from all over Karnataka. There is a good vibe and a friendly atmosphere around the campus. However there are CCTVS all around the college. Verdict: Government Homeopathic Medical College (GHMC) is the only government homeopathic hospital in the state of Karnataka. It is supposedly the best and definitely one of the best in Karnataka. Students pass out with a whole lot memories and a bright future ahead of them. If you manage to get this college, DON'T THINK TWICE.
