Government College of Engineering, Amravati (GCOEA) is one of the illustrious engineering institutes in the state of Maharashtra India. The Institute is situated in Amravati also known as "Ambanagari". Apart from academics GCOEA is recognized research center for Ph.D. Programs in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering for Amravati University. Government College of Engineering, Amravati was incepted in the year 1964 by the Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to Amravati University in 1982.Institute imparts undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes for its students. The institute was ranked 45 in Outlook India's Top Engineering Colleges of 2012 and 68 in Dataquest's Top Engineering Colleges in India of 2011.

PLAGIARISED Placements: The college is well known for its placements. Mostly for computer science and IT, there are 100% placements. But this is not the case with other branches. Every year, Cognizant and Wipro are our main campus companies along with some other companies. But this year, we had very little placement through campus. So we needed to go for open campus interviews as well and students did well in that. The credit for it goes to student development program which is being organized in the summer between third and final year. Infrastructure: The college had a big loophole of infrastructure. There is very less availability of Wi-Fi on the campus. Considering labs of core branches, there are a countable number of working instruments, but in case of non-core branches, labs get 3 stars of 5. Classrooms are moderate but they are improving with projectors and other facilities. There is no such separate medical facility, we have only first aid facility at gymkhana. Gymkhana also provides us good quality sports equipment, but we don't have indoor games stadium for TT, badminton, chess, carrom, etc. Faculty: Regarding faculty, quality education by them is good but speaking about my dept. comps itself, we have only 7 teaching members for 400 students. So it's a hard task for them as well to teach us. The curriculum is good. 4 stars out of 5. Other: If you want to get admission in this college, then only go for comps or IT. Other depts. don't necessarily have placements. Bad labs. But the student to teacher ratio is high. One of the great things about the college is Prajwalan, our national level tech fest. The beauty of this event is that everything is managed and arranged by students, basics from sponsorships, workshops till the end of tech fest. It is a great experience to study in this college
