Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, Kolkata was established in the year 1938. The college has been named after Gopal Krishna Gokhale, a well-known teacher, educationist and a freedom fighter. Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College is the first college to be affiliated to teach Psychology by the Calcutta University in 1957 in the Three Year Degree Course.
