GLS Institute of Computer Technology is now almost ten years old institute with approval from AICTE and Gujarat University. The All India Council of Technical Education and Gujarat University have approved this institute as Post Graduate center for conducting the MCA course under self-financing scheme. Institute aim is to develop GLSICT as a world class institution of academic excellence.

Master of Business Administration	0	Graduates (10+2+3 pattern) of Gujarat state or out state universities in any disciplines provided they have passed H. S. C. or equivalent examination from a school situated in Gujarat state with Maths/Business Maths/Statistics as one of the subjects. Other rules ar per the norms of GTU. NRG and NRI candidates are also eligible to apply for CMAT, but admission will be granted against management quota seats. Candidates who have appeared in the final year examination can also apply.	-

Institute has Placement facility many software companies and industries have started coming for campus interviews.

Infrastructures

This institute is housed in a spacious building having modern interiors that pleases the visitors as well as students. It has well equipped computer laboratories, comfortable classrooms, separate faculty rooms, seminar-cum-conference room for placement activities and other amenities.

Laboratory

The computer laboratories of MCA have been put on a fiber optic backbone with 3Com Superstack Switches and have sharable HP Windows NT, SCO Unix, DS-10 Alpha OpenVMS RISC and Red Hat LINUX servers with all the necessary software packages and host of peripherals such as line printer, laser printer, inkjet printers, scanners, CD writer, DVD writer etc. Separate Experimental Laboratory is also available to the students for hands-on unscheduled experiments.

Library

The institute library has rich collection of books on Computer Science, Computer Applications and Information Technology. It has acquired more than 5500 books covering almost all areas of computer science and subscribed to more than 36 national as well as international journals in this discipline.

My dream college where I found my hidden talent and pursued it

My journey in GLS College has been awesome. I have learned many things and have achieved a lot in this place. Lots of memories have been built here and life here has been a dream come true. I come from a non-IT background and wasn’t aware of programming and coding. But in GLS I have learned many programming languages. I have learned lots of things like how to study in a proper way. GLSFCT provides many facilities like a comfortable study environment, seminars, guest lectures, industry visits, sports activities but the most valuable thing it provides is almost 100% placement. In our youth festival, I participated in dance and got the 3rd prize. I also participated in our TechFest (Cyber Shadez) which is organized every year and won 3rd prize. GLSFCT also has tie-ups with international colleges. GLSFCT is easily one of the top most colleges in Gujarat for MCA.

I feel so proud to be a part of GLS university.The faculty of the MCA department are very supportive to students.The faculties of GLS are well experienced so we have the opportunity to gain knowledge from their experiences.They are always available to solve our doubts. The infrastructure of labs in the MCA department is excellent. The library of GLS is very good and we can easily search the books through the library software. The Institute believes in preparing ethical leaders who are not only committed to business, technical and industry but are also socially conscious towards their contribution in nation building and bring in name for the country globally. The Post-Graduate Programme in Computer technology is the flagship programme of GLS. The objectives of two/three year Post-Graduate Programme is to understand the socio-economic, technological, ecological and environment of India and the world to hone the problem solving skills, increase the affinity to innovation and the passion for creativity. To develop a sense of social purpose for managerial decision-making and to develop leadership capabilities without compromising on ethical values with a full time industry training at prestigious organizations. These lay the foundations for all the functional areas of technology and help the students develop an intricate understanding about the different facets involved. In the second year, students choose from a range of electives to specialize in functional areas of their interest. They are given the choice of doing a major and minor specialization. The areas offered at present technology and market demand. The students, over the period of years are expected to conduct research on various aspects of technology and subject it to the scrutiny and evaluation of the faculty. The pedagogy at GLSFCT presents a mix of lectures, case studies , simulation exercises, role plays, group discussions, field visits, industry based projects and a lot of self-realized conceptual reflection. It has been designed keeping in mind the effect each of these methods have on molding the minds of young and self-motivated students. The case studies help the students to keep in touch with the best predicaments faced in the world of technology. In institute contributes to a good students-teacher ratio. Professors are very much helpful throughout the sessions. They welcome the efforts of the students and are even accessible outside classes.

I chose to study at GLS because I was looking for a university that has both a strong teaching programme and opportunities to develop industry-relevant skills to allow me to have a successful career. GLS offers great student services, a devoted world-class teaching staff and a beautiful campus are all at the heart of one of the most welcoming and dynamic cities in the Gujarat.
