Established in 1931, GIA (Gemological Institute of America) is considered the world’s foremost authority in diamonds, coloured stones and pearls. A non-profit organisation, GIA’s mission is to ensure the public trust in gems and jewellery through research, education, laboratory services and instrument development.  

As a leading institute for gemmological education, GIA has trained over 15,000 professionals in India and more than 350,000 students  around the world.

What sets GIA education apart is the research that supports it.  GIA researchers around the world are constantly looking into latest developments, and their work is included in the curriculum of GIA courses.

GIA established its India operations in 2004, and since inception, the Institute has attracted students from all over India and neighbouring countries. With a brand new state-of-the-art campus, the Institute offers diploma programmes including the Graduate Gemologist, Graduate Diamonds, Graduate Colored Stones  and a certificate course in Jewelry Design. GIA also conducts lab classes in diamond grading, gem identification, coloured stone grading, and pearl grading.

GIA offers 85 seats for Gemology and 16 seats for Jewellery Design course.

Located at Bandra Kurla Complex in the suburbs of Mumbai and just a few blocks away from Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB, world's largest diamond bourse-exchange), GIA offers training for aspiring gem and jewellery professionals. Today, GIA graduates hold key positions in many top diamond and  jewellery firms. GIA also offers educational services through its classrooms in New Delhi, Jaipur and Surat.
