Private University Estd. 1952 NIRF #1 (Medical) 2024Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradhun was set up in the green forest of Himalaya in 1906 for imparting an outstanding knowledge and research in the forestry domain. The college comes under the aegis of Indian Council of Forest Research and Education (ICFRE). The Greeko Roman & colonial styled edifice gives student "WOW" feeling. The campus of the institute is extended in an area of 450 hectares, with the outer Himalaya forming its back drop. The aim of the institute is to fulfil the needs and requirements of the Indo-Gangetic plains of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh, as Well as the U.P. Himalayas. Forest Research Institute is affiliated to Forest research Institute University and approved by UGC.

FRI University has a well developed placement office that deals with the placement activities of the institute, which mostly happens in the month of April and August. Institute has set some parameters for the placement like job profile, growth prospects and remuneration package of the company. Institute invites top notch firms for the campus recruitment. FRI has world class amenities for conducting interviews like institute has well furnished guest houses as accommodation (on request) for the members of selection teams. Annually, 50% students get placement through campus interview and other half try their entrepreneurial skills.
