Laboratory

Since 1971, an IBM 1130 computer was commissioned inside the premises of P.G. Department of Physics under the initiatives of Professor B.B.Deo, marking the establishment of Computer Centre of Utkal University. The above computer was one out of eleven such systems installed in the country at that time. Besides meeting the academic use of the people all over the state, the computing facilities have also been used for non-academic purposes by the ORISSA State Electricity Board, Rourkela Steel Plan

Library

The UTKAL University Library was established in 1946. The Library of the Utkal University is named as "PARIJA LIBRARY" in the memory of late Dr. Pranakrishna Parija, the first Vice-Chancellor of the University and Scientist of international repute. As per rules laid down in the Statutes of the University the Library Committee has been constituted and it deals with general administration of the Library.
