All the classrooms of the department are well furnished with all modern facilities.

Laboratory

The department has well-equipped three teaching laboratories, six specialized research laboratories, centralized computer & networking laboratory and a common instrumentation laboratory. The department is undertaking several R&D projects sponsored by various National funding agencies including DBT, DST, CSIR, UGC, ICMR, Research pertains broadly various aspects of General and Applied Microbiology.

The department has a common library with the department of Biophysics with total number of 2238 books.
