Damodaran college of science is affiliated Bharathiar University and approved by NAAC (NATIONAL ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION COUNCIL). The Department started in 1995 offers the 3 year undergraduate degree programmes of B.Com, B.Com (Computer Applications), B.Com (e-Commerce), B.Com (Corporate Secretaryship), the 2 year Masters and 1 year PG Diploma in International Business and the 1 year PG Diploma in Marketing Management, M.Phil programmes. The M.Phil programme was instituted in the year 2001 at the research level and SCIB also offers full time and part time Ph.D. Programmes.

Placement
Considerable attention and effort are devoted to secure placements for the students through campus interviews as well as to arrange recruitment opportunities at major metropolitan centres. Cent percent placement is achieved. A lot of students are working outside India.
Infrastructures
The College buildings, which are modern, functional and impressive, consist of 4 major blocks-the Main Block, the Management and Computer Science Block, the Commerce and Social Work Block and the Library. There are two smaller units – the PG Hostel block and the Canteen block.

Laboratory
All the essential laboratories have been set up and provided with modern and sophisticated equipments which meet not only the needs of the undergraduate and postgraduate laboratory course work but also the requirements of research and development.

The GRDCS Library is well stocked, well staffed and above all is constantly updated by additions.
