Department of Biotechnology is established under Cochin University of Science & Technology, The mandate of the Department is to train human resources in Biotechnology and to cater to the needs of the nation in harnessing the vast biodiversity and to promote bioindustries, not only in the state of Kerala but also in the country. The Department has linkages with R&D institutions and Industries such as Indian Spices Research Centre, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre, Madona Hospital and Research Centre, Synthite Industries.
