Canara Engineering College is the millennium project of the Canara High School Association. Canara Engineering College is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University and recognized by Government of Karnataka and approved by India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college provides excellent training for students in the field of Information Technology sector, Electronics and Communication sector, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics sectors. The placement cell of the college plays a vital role in nurturing students career. Canara engineering college placement cell is managed by Mrs. Diana Monteiro, Incharge Training & Placement Officer. The objective of the placement cell is to shape students career in their choice of the field with excellent training and make them agile to face real world challenges.

Physics and Chemistry laboratories are housed in spacious blocks, which has natural light and ventilation. These laboratories are well equipped with latest equipment. The College library has got an independent building with carpet area of 740 sqm, spread in 2 floors. Spacious reading halls are provided for students. The library has 11800 books mostly text books, reference books, hand books, encyclopedia, etc. Competitive examination books on GRE, TOEFL, CAT, MAT and GATE are also available.
