Ashoka is a fully residential campus and has been equipped to house more than 800 students in 390 fully furnished, air-conditioned rooms. Residences have common bathrooms on each floor, a lounge space or common room, and facilities for laundry and fitness.

Hostel Details : 

Ashoka University’s Residence Life programme, the first of its kind in India, is dedicated to revitalising the campus residential experience, starting with creating a community in every residence hall. You could spend time chatting with your RA, lounging in the common room, or studying with friends. You will share a room with a classmate in one of our meticulously-maintained residence halls while learning from your fellow students from all around the world. Settle in to a residential programme that helps you make the most of every University moment.

Library Details

Ashoka University houses dynamic library services. There is a library portal in place that gives access to the Digital Library, both through the LMS and otherwise. 

Authentic registered users of Ashoka University will now be able to search through our Online Catalogue, Institutional Repository, Digital news and millions of free academic e-books, articles, chapters and theses on Liberal Arts and allied subjects in addition to the subscribed journals and databases. And all this will happen on a single platform.

Copyright issues for downloads wherever applicable have also been taken care of with a one time signing-in on terms and conditions.

Sports Details

Ashoka University is dedicated to providing students with plenty of activity outside the classroom. The past year saw Ashokans represent the University in football, basketball, volleyball, cricket, table tennis, tennis, chess, badminton and Ultimate Frisbee. Many Ashokans have picked up running and have participated in half marathons and other races. At Ashoka, it is not uncommon to see staff members and faculty engage with students on the sports field as well.

With a firm belief that a sound mind resides in a sound body, students have access to the following facilities at present :

• Football field with flood lights
• Gym
• Cricket pitch
• Volleyball court with flood lights
• Synthetic Basketball Court with lights
• Synthetic Tennis Courts with lights
• A 200 metre running track
• A Long jump pit
• 1 + km synthetic running track
• Table tennis

A state-of-the-art indoor sports complex is under construction and is expected to be fully functional by August 2016. The complex will house :

• A 25 metre swimming pool
• Multi-purpose courts for Basketball and Badminton
• Two double Squash courts
• Facilities for Table Tennis and Billiards
• Comprehensive gymnasium with latest equipment
• A 10 meter Shooting range

Extra Curricular Details

An Ashoka student is encouraged to initiate her/his own projects and/or participate in the wide range of extra-curricular activities buzzing on campus.  Be it running a club or university students’ newspaper, organising cultural showcases or working as an elected member of the student government, taking along a diverse team, in short, simply being a powerful and dynamic student in all spheres of “student life” at Ashoka – this Programme is aimed at helping each student to effectively carry out the various responsibilities and projects that s/he undertakes.

Club Societies Details

At Ashoka, when not occupied with academics, students find themselves immersed in pursuing creative hobbies and interests through clubs and societies. These prove to be an ocean of opportunities to contribute to and enrich the campus experience culturally and intellectually.

At Ashoka, clubs and societies are autonomous bodies which design their own leadership structure and modes of functioning. A “society” is an umbrella of two or more clubs with diverse pursuits, brought together by a focal interest area. A “club” on the other hand has a very definite field of work it is committed to.

Extra Details

The Young India Fellowship (YIF) is a one-year multidisciplinary postgraduate diploma programme in Liberal Studies at Ashoka University. The Fellowship brings together a group of 225 bright young men and women who show exceptional intellectual ability and leadership potential from across the country, and trains them to become socially committed agents of change. YIF exposes them to a diverse set of subjects and perspectives, delivered by some of the finest teachers from India and around the world. 

The aim is to help Fellows become well-rounded individuals who are able to think critically from multiple perspectives, communicate effectively and become leaders with a commitment to public service. YIF is delivered in collaboration with University of California, Berkeley; Carleton College; King’s College, London; University of Michigan; University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS); Sciences Po, Paris, Trinity College, Dublin and Yale University. Students from all disciplines and areas of study are welcome to YIF; engineers, designers, commerce graduates or literature enthusiasts are all mentored into reaching their full potential.
