A grand showcase of culinary art was being organized by the Association of Hospitality Professionals at Indian Hotel Academy, New Delhi.
Entitled as ‘Young Chef Challenge’, event was on January 20-21, 2014, with the prime objective to provide a professional platform, where culinary professionals could display their skills, creative talent and share experiences in a competitive environment.
The competition was inaugurated by Mr. Rajindera Kumar, the President of Executive Committee with the lamp lighting ceremony, in presence of Mr. G. P. Gautam (President, Indian Hotel Academy), Mrs. Devipshita Gautam (President, AHP Society) and the executive members of the association. The successfully organized competition witnessed excellent blend of art and talent demonstrated in the various categories like International Cuisine, Confectionary, Kitchen Artist, Kababs, and Indian Sweets. Thirty four Young chefs from renowned hotels like Radisson Blu, Courtyard Marriot, The Park, The Ashok, Country Inn and Suites, Sarovar Park Plaza, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Samrat and Old World Hospitality were among the participants.
There were highly qualified and experienced panel of judges to monitor the Cooking including Chef Sireesh Saxena (Ex-Vice President Hotels ITDC), Chef Vivek Saggar, An Accredited Judge of the World Association of Chefs Societies, and Chef Prem Ram, a member of world association of chefs Society.
Chef Sireesh Saxena was over whelmed to see the skill, and dedication of the kitchen professionals. Chef Vivek Saggar said that such competitions would help in Growing interest in creative cooking and innovation among the young Indian chefs. Judges were every much impressed with the participants with high enthusiasm. Indian Hotel Academy was also being appreciated for smoothly conducting the event.
The winner in each category will be awarded in a formal award function to be held in the month of February. Ms. Devipshita Gautam formally announced the date for the next Young Chef Challenge to be held on 21st January 2015.
The forthcoming event “Young Bar Tenders Challenge - 2014” was also announced in the first week of June 2014. The event ended up with a vote of thanks by Chef Sireesh Saxena. He thanked all participants, The Executive chefs and General Managers of various Hotels, who sent their participants to display the best of the skills, innovation, and abilities to turn the competition into a real successful show.
