The Department of Hotel Management and catering Technology, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, is organizing 10 day workshop on preparation of Bakery and Confectionary product on June 17-27, 2013.
This workshop will focus on providing training in preparation of commonly used Bakery items like cookies, Pizza, cakes, puddings etc. which can be prepared at home, using a domestic convection oven. This workshop may be of special importance for housewives, faculty members and their relatives, and students who can use the leisure time of summer vacation. The programme is named as“Bake and Take”. The participants will be allowed to take product they prepare.
Bakery and confection items have become an essential part of today’s food habit. This workshop aims at providing training to the participants with the basic concept of Baking and preparation of Bakery products.
The items included in the classes are Melting moments, chocolate and Nut cookies, orange biscuits, Jam Tart, Fruit cake, muffins, Burger buns, croissants, banana bread, vegetable patties, pineapple upside down cake, chocolate brownie, veg. pizza, mango mousse, Birthday cakes etc.
Last date of registration was on June 15, 2013. Certificate of participation will be given on completion of training.
