Ever since the new CAT notification has come out, we are sure that there are a lot of questions buzzing in your ears regarding the change in the pattern of the examination –   whether or not there should be a change in the preparation and test-taking strategy, what would be the level of difficulty of the test, what should be the preparation plan considering an additional one month time and so on.

But don’t worry! The answers to your questions are right here. HT Education and Career Launcher have organized a webinar in association with click4college.com where you can interact live with Gautam Puri (Aptitude Guru & Founder Career Launcher) to decode The New CAT.

What are the changes in the CAT 2014 exam pattern?

1. Exam duration has been increased by 30 minutes – from 140 minutes (2 hours 20 minutes) to 170 minutes (2 hours 50 minutes).

2. Purchase of offline vouchers has been discontinued.

3. Number of questions in each section quantitative ability and data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning sections has been increased to 50 from the existing 30 questions.

4. The window period of holding CAT exams has been cut down by IIM-Indore. Now, the test will be held only on two days. Earlier, the exam was conducted over a period of 22-days.

5. This year, CAT tutorials will not be available before the start of the exam. Candidates are, therefore, advised to go through the tutorials from the website well in advance.

As announced earlier, IIM-Indore has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS) to conduct the exam.
